i mean building on your idea. you could make it so the difficulty is as it was when it was first released like they apparently did with ultimates.

I am another who wants some sort of level cap. The capstone trials of each expansion should be held to a higher standard and it's disappointing that the two mid-expansion Primals leading up to the 60/70/80/90 trials are always better tuned.
For MSQ bosses they could just handle it like the old 8man MSQ duties, if the conversations werent done yet the boss cannot be killed/damaged before it completed the sentences (will stay at 0.1%hp or whatever health it has at a mid phase). It surely can be anoying if you want to rush it, especialy when in unsync, but its at least reliable. That for unsync it can be anoying because rushing became less possible is just a side effect.
they should just have a new duty finder tick box for level cap msq duties/trials - something like ilvl sync or min ilvl. but if you're getting it from roulette, then i'd rather always have it as they are now

This just happened to me a couple days ago. I got the final Endwalker trial in roulettes and our damage was so high that the boss died literally right after (spoilers)G'raha says "For hope will shine again!"
We had a few people doing the fight for the first time and I was pretty bummed that they didn't even get to hear the full monologue from the boss near the end. I don't even think they knew. I really would like it if our stats were a bit more squished when we get that trial.![]()
Which was a real genuine complaint back in Stormblood that I saw for a lot, when many players had difficulty clearing ShinryuThe normal MSQ version of fights aren't intended to be difficult because many players are going through them for the sake of story and not a test of combat skill. To satisfy the latter, the former would be in danger of not being able to complete the content at all, and that's something that SE wants to avoid.
People have complained about every end fight, except for maybe Thordan. Then more people actually learned the fights, and the complaining died down.
In other words, git gud.
Easiest way is to cap the ilvl for level synced fights to what the highest ilvl would have been when that fight/raid was released. It would let you experience more of the original fight but it would still be easier as power creep with abilities has already made most every class considerably stronger than when that expansion was current.
Meanwhile after the stat squish some dungeons feel like they were tuned to the min ilvl instead of the max and take longer than they used too.
Dungeons are harder and can take longer than MSQ expansion cap fights.
Let that sink in for a minute.
Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]
