Mate: word of advice? If you play " to be envied" or if you play OUT of envy? You need a BIG perspective check. One does not play any video game to "show off" how much gear you have..we had that back in WOW, with players "hard parking" to show off how leet they were, so people would ooh and ahhh at their "epic armour"
Which led me to ask one of these...people..if they were wearing the armour and weps...or if the armour and weps were wearing THEM. If you raid to be no more than a glorified clothes horse..then thats a reality check for you. I dont "envy" anyone in a video game, nor do i really CARE.
I could if I choose, pick up a savage static, ive been invited at least twice, so no, Saraide, there is no "envy" of any kind...I, like many others, are way past that kind of childish behaviour. My measure of a person is more on the lines of not what they wear, or what achievements or content they have done..I measure people on who they are. How they treat others.
You might want to consider that...mmmkay?

Decrease the max ilv for Endsinger, and while we're at it, decrease the max ilv of Thordan, LotA, and Syrcus Tower.

Yup, posts like that really show how "little" you care. As does you showing up to antagonize in pretty much every thread about raiding. Truly only someone who doesnt care would put so much effort into posting. Keep coping.Mate: word of advice? If you play " to be envied" or if you play OUT of envy? You need a BIG perspective check. This reads like someone high on copium, who is trying to convince themselves by saying "those high end raiders aren't better than me, I'm definitely good enough to do what they do, I just don't want to.". I'm not necessarily endorsing any allegations of jealousy, but if you're trying to convince people that you're not envious, you're failing. Might wanna reconsider the choice of wording.I could if I choose, pick up a savage static, ive been invited at least twice, so no, Saraide, there is no "envy" of any kind...I, like many others, are way past that kind of childish behaviour. I get the feeling that they either know it's true and they just wanna be a contrarian, or they just haven't done Endsinger normal in the past 6-8 months. To be fair, I've only gotten it once in trial roulette in the past 6 months so wouldn't be surprised if it's the latter.

ilv increases making fights less difficult than on release makes sense for the difficult content. By difficult, I mean any fight with an enrage timer that players cannot join and expect to just clear it without coordination and knowing how to play their job. It does not make sense for content that is not intended to be overly difficult in the first place. Dungeon bosses, Alliance raid bosses, NM trials and NM raids etc. should never become so ridiculously face roll easy that over half of the mechanics get skipped, and it ruins the experience of those fights.
These duties should always be ran as intended on their release as not a single one of them has barred a player's progression. Not even notoriously 'harder than usual' duties like Aurum Vale, The Burn, Orbonne Monastery, E7N (Iconoclasm), or Titan HM (even when players could be eliminated) ever walled a player in their tracks. All of these instances should sync players down in order to keep the difficulty level constant.
I understand that this is an mmo, but the participation trophy mindset of the devs needs to stop.

They already MAKE that content with casuals players in mind. The content is clearly released with this intention. It doesn't need to get any easier.
Besides, there's an abyss between being casual and "wanting the boss to melt without even getting to say their lines". A casual person is not someone that dislikes even trying to play the game or wiping, it is just someone without time or patience to try savage.

That's essentially what it is. The idea behind participation trophies is to boost self-esteem. What it really does is reward a person for a subpar performance. In FFXIV this manifests in several ways. You can have mechanics that do not punish the player for failing them, battles that end too quickly, of clears given even if the player stands there and does nothing the entire fight.
Among the casuals this mindset also alienates the players who enjoy doing the mechanics instead of being able to 'drinking bird' their way through the whole encounter. The thing is, I also don't fault the devs entirely for this issue. I blame a lot of the players who would leave NM duties when the group wipes to the boss. This was very abundant back in 3.x, with vote abandons being initiated with losses to bosses like Diabolos Hollow, Cruise Chaser, and Nidhogg. The very same players who now complain about the content being too easy.
This still does not pardon the dev team from perpetuating the lesson that losing is a humbling experience. Content too difficult for casual players, and content that is faceroll easy are the extremes on opposite ends. Neither is healthy for the game or the playerbase short term or long term.

Casual doesn't necessarily mean braindead. People really need to stop conflating the two. I'd hazard a guess the majority of casual players want some degree of challenge, just at a palatable level rather then being given a reward for showing up. Case in point, for all the crying and moaning a vocal minority did about the likes of Weeping City, Final Steps of Faith and The Burn, none of them were ever nerfed. In fact, Shinryu got a Kotaku article regarding its supposed difficulty yet nothing was changed. The majority of the playerbase got through and weren't the ones complaining.
Unfortunately, the "participation trophy" crowd is still sizable and the devs have seemingly decided to cater directly towards them since Shadowbringers.
