I agree, it would be nice if we had a fight that had no overriding resistances/weakness and lasted more then 5minsThere are plenty of fights in MMO's that are perfect DPS gauges. I can think of 4-5 from Vanguard off of the top of my head. The point is in this game (with still only a handful of encounters) it varies on the encounter as there is no perfect DPS gauge, so saying "Garuda can be used to compare X and X class, or Miser can" is wrong due to how those fights work giving benefits to specific jobs over others.
I think Coincounter would be a good judge if you didn't have to disengage for swings
