I kind of feel without him the game is likely to become even more same-y than it already is.
He at least has potential to try new things occasionally

A new director is likely either be too timid to mess with S-E's money baby making it stagnate even more than it has already or take crazy wild swings that end up hurting the game a lot.

Honestly I think the way FFXIV is basically S-E's lifeline is making the whole company scared to mess with the formulaic nature of it
I do kind of long for the FFXI days where every new thing was some insanely different content just about every time though so maybe a risk taker would be good

I tried blocking once. It doesn't work. If others quote the person you have blocked...you may as well not even have them blocked because you'll see everything they say.

Now if they fixed that...then I would take to blocking again.

That’s contradictory, and this contradiction is what OP is trying to convey. Yoshi-P will never play take risks anymore because this is SE’s only money-making machine left. Every other games have flopped.

Until SE has another breakthrough successful game, they will not take any risks to innovate anything within FFXIV.

i know people love to think of yoshi as a god and pray to him 4 times a day but i see that he now days hurt the games progress more that he helps it. he deserves the respect for doing a good job for a long time, i say up to 5.x. now days so much of the games problems and things the game just do have is because yoshi don't like them. how many times we did hear "i did not think any one will want it" as a reason?
so if we want the game to have new and GOOD things we need a new director.

If that was the case we wouldn't have got Bozjan after The Diadem failure. So yes it shows he's willing to take risks I just want more of them.

The problem isn't Yoshi. It's resources allocated to this game. Their main focus is on FF XVI. They don't even have enough budget for making new dungeon gear, or make it dyable. Innovation won't happen until the focus returns to FF XIV (if ever).
