question about a specific name situation

hi i've never posted on the forum before (this is obvious) and i'm asking this on behalf of a friend. i'm not sure what other forum would be good for this.

are there specific curses allowed in in-game names? if i put ass (ie as cool-ass tiger) am i going to get a stern finger-wagging by a gm and forced name change? thank you

Sorry, but there's no specific list of what is allowed/isn't allowed. All they say about language in in the terms of service is:

3.3 Profanity and Offensive Language. You may not use profanity or any language that a reasonable person would find offensive. The Game is for players aged 13 and older. You agree to behave accordingly.

So really you need to interpret that how you think best, but it's probably better to err on the side of caution.

I can tell you with 90% certainty that "cool-ass tiger" would lead to a gm talk and a name change. I myself know a guy that used to have a similar name and he got the name change treatment so it's clear they don't care if you mask/hide the silly curse word with word plays.

Maybe change it to cool-arse tiger. I don't think they care much for against European cursing? Bullocks, arse, wanker, etc. You see those terms all the time in movies for younger people. Hell I think they are all used in game at one point or another.

Tard Bark resulted in a 5 minute stint in GM jail and forced to do a name change. A swear (if the filter doesn't prevent it) will definitely you some GM attention at some point.

The game and GM's don't actually care until someone reports you.

Until someone reports you for an inappropriate name you're fine.. however if someone COULD find your name offensive AND it has borderline swearing, cursing, or coarse language in it, you probably don't want to use that.

You never know what can actually trigger a GM to do anything. All throughout ARR and HW, a player had "CheapA$$J _ _" as a retainer. I'd imagine that racial epithets would be taken care of quickly. It took 4+ years.
