Long, long ago our starting group all started in Gridania with the 'tank' starting as a Lancer. Was hectic but we managed to get thru Sastasha and Tam Tara before we wised up and they swapped to Paladin and Leve leveled it up fast.

Honestly, I wouldn't focus too hard on starting classes. At lvl 10 in MSQ, you can go to every city and access every ARR class, so you can set up your party there. First dungeon doesn't happen til shortly after you visit every city anyway.




A party of 4 does not have to go with a tank, healer and 2 dps. These rules only apply if 3 or less queue into it.
So you can take your 3 dps along, including the Arcanist. The Arcanist will be able to heal.
In other news, there is no technical debt from 1.0.

Not quite that early. The level 15 MSQ sends you around to all the starting cities. Before that you can't travel between Limsa Lominsa and the other cities.
