Instant portrait keeps resetting

Any idea what the heck is going on? I've saved it four times now and every time I go into an instance, it says reverted to default. I can't figure this one out.

No I'm not changing gear sets or glams, it's just not worked since I fantasia last. I updated all of them but none of my instant portraits are custom, just the default I made ages ago.

Try to remove a piece of gear and hit the gear set update button on your character sheet.

Although since you said you fantasia'd was this the most recent change prior to the portrait issue? If so I would think whatever data that was intended was lost due to thay change so your best bet is to delete both gear set and portrait and redo the whole thing

Do you have the set hooked up to a glamour plate? I find that if I have multiple jobs using different glamours from the same role, editing one set will not tell me that the others are affected until I enter a dungeon and it defaults on me. You can fix this by going to each gear set and toggling your weapon, headgear, or visor on/off and back and then updating the gear set for each job.

It's not set up to any specific gear set. I don't link plates to my gear sets.

I've tried to save after the fantasia, but it's still not working right.

I use more casual glams, and typically the same one for every single gear set until I get bored and swap plates again.

Select the option to hide or show your hat. Confirm by gear update icon. Reverse. Any changes you make always have to be confirmed by this update or else plate won't work.

Now go to portrait, make unnoticeable change (like move it an inch) and save. Update portrait to show as instant (turn off and on).

I hate this system. Let me customize a default and use it 100% of the time. Old system let me.

My default is boring and I can't change it.

if that still doesnt work, try updating all of your gear sets, including classes you dont play, and then update them all in your portraits. i notice that classes that use the same gear set as another (such as brd dnc and mch) that if one of them isnt updated properly it messes all three classes up. its annoying

Wish there was a way to just make it default to my adventure plate portrait, as that seems to always work. Instant portraits are in a really bad spot right now.

Thought the old system did this.

TIL Extracting materia requires updating gear set. Maybe that's the issue?
