Which group is the insane group? The group that likes some stuff in the game therefore they stay subbed or the group that hates every aspect of the game and makes 3-4 threads a week to say how much they hate the game yet willingly pay for it on several accounts and buys optional items?

Considering that the first group is so obsessed with a single person that they allow them to live rent free even when said person takes a break from posting, I think I know the answer.

Y'all hate this guy to a literally irrational degree (as well as anyone who doesn't want to dogpile him). No wonder he doesn't give you the time of day. If people are so desperate for him to respond to them, maybe they should consider not giving him a reason not to.

But, for the record, I keep my main well hidden too. Not in the account sense, mind - I just don't link my actual main character, because I know what's going to happen if I do. I already got a dose of some forum crazies finding me in-game and trying to cause problems back during the Garlean debates. 0/10, would not recommend.

Oh I'm not saying they have multiple accounts and posing that they don't. Nah that's not what I'm saying. A certain someone has said they have multiple accounts and the one they use on the forums is strictly for forums and refuse to post on their main. That means they have another account. That's 2 known accounts. That's double the amount for subs to pay for a game they hate.

I mean, if they have the money to burn on two accounts, more power to them. Can't say I'd do the same even if I absolutely loved the game. In any case, that still isn't cause to start spilling in to shut a thread down because you don't like the person responsible for it.

Some people get a little too passionate, and it can very quickly shift from mere forum debates to someone deciding to inconvenience you by sending false reports in-game.

Yeeeep. It's been a long while ago, though. Stormblood, I think? I'm not 100% sure exactly how long ago the Garlean debates were. Either way, it was pretty weird.

Is this your first rodeo with Aveyond? If you were talking about anyone else I'd agree with you, however Aveyond is not here for discussion, he's not here to debate things, he's only here to spout off about stuff he hates and echo chamber with the few people who voice agreement. I once agreed with a lot of the stuff he said, but as I watched over time, he's gone from a normal poster who had complaints to a person who only seems to exist to find things to hate about the game and then HAS to tell us about them. Almost without fail, he'll completely ignore everyone in a thread he makes except the people who agree with him.

As much as I hate to say it, again as someone who once agreed with some of his points, Aveyond's brought his negative reputation upon himself.

There's literally nothing to discuss though. Aveyond's got no interest in discussing his edgy teenage fanfiction with us, so why should we? Nothing wrong with turning a negative topic into something useful (the god discussion, which you were among the first to jump into btw, and my change of topic lasted for all of three posts so...).

I'mma be real with you. I don't even blame him at this point. Whether people want to admit it or not, there's a huge issue around here with people that bring forth criticisms of the game getting dogpiled. Were I younger and in possession of more free time, I'd probably have started going out of my way to make posts like this one out of sheer spite. Sadly, I have grown out of the ability to care enough to put so much time into something so inconsequential.

There's criticism of FF14, and then there's Aveyond's fanfiction land where FF14 is a gritty, edgy western high fantasy game with hot ripped Bara bears breaking filthy prettyboy twinks over their knees while they enjoy dragon slaying and brooding and NOT eating BURGERS because this is NOT THAT KIND OF STORY.

Organized? You make it sound like people plan this all out like a conspiracy against them. I actually bowed out of these threads for a while and just watched. They derailed on their own long before I even got involved. It's almost like there are WAAAAAAYYYYY more people done with OPs antics than they are for.

I mean, when you've got A.) a dude that pops in and straight up calls for others to derail the thread; and B.) a bunch of familiar posters showing up to derail said thread, it's rather difficult not to see that as being organized at least on some level. :P Even if it's only organized in the sense of, "oh, he said to do the thing, let's go do the thing lolololo."

I've said this time and time again, but if you think Aveyond isn't here for discussion or you want his thread to die, why are you posting in it? You guys are bumping his thread to the top of General Discussion every time you post here. You're literally giving his thread more attention, letting it grow, and having more people see it.

The only thing you could possibly accomplish here with your current strategy is to squash out any genuine discussion that could pop up around the topic. So what is your goal here? If it's to destroy potential discussion, then you don't get to complain that Aveyond isn't here for discussion, because neither are you. And if that isn't your goal, maybe consider a different tactic.

Showing up and screeching about how terrible Aveyond is only makes you look crazy and obsessed, it's not helping your case here. Please chill.
