    FATEs and how they should change

    My thoughts on FATEs are similar to my thoughts on guildhests and guildleves. I would like to see the system repurposed rather than replaced. I actually like the idea of turning fates into critical engagements like you would find in bozja and zadnar. Being able to participate and be teleported regardless of your position on the map is way more appealing than it's current state. Also them being more than glorified trash pulls is more appealing also.

    To go along with this I would like to see normal trash in the world become significantly improved. Instead of being monsters you can go afk and let your chocobo kill, how about we upgrade them to be large significant monsters that perform very basic mechanics. Make them guarentee drops so if people need to farm them for mats its both more interesting and more reliable.

    Idk just some thoughts I had that I thought would make the open world and fates more fun/interesting. What are your ideas?!

    They could do something similar to how guild wars 2 does its open-world events. Maybe start having fates that have monsters attacking the cities. Have more meaningful rewards like poetics, new styles, mounts, and materials.

    Man... I'd love for the overworld to get the Bozja treatment. It's already in the game! Just copy/paste dungeon bosses. It's a crime.

    I agree. In GW2 they are fun. The only mildly interesting one I can remember is near Camp Drybone on the bridge where NPCs get kidnapped or something. And that was during ARR. EW and ShB tried but [Holy Sheltron] is it shallow.

    I sort of liked how FFXI had those campaign events and that other one where the monsters would attack the city itself. It would be interesting if FATEs actually had an effect on the zone itself. I don't know what would make sense for this particular game, but I recall that in FFXI (broken record), if no city "owned" a particular region, there was no way to obtain some item needed for an oft-used item, making everyone on the server suffer due to the supply plummeting.

    I do agree more interesting fates would be nice but I feel they did all that in bozja and zadnar. Which is why I think those should also drop some Gem stones.

    But what they have currently even if it was something like passive benefits where they could give a damage, def, gathering boost while in the area or something for a limited time. Giving the more reasons to do them even if you're not farming them.

    My idea for it is to just merge Guildhests with FATEs. If I queue for Mentor/Guildhests then I could get teleported directly to the FATE that a player out in the overworld needs help with. Change up the reward system to maybe give you some gems and up the overall rewards to make it more attractive. You can basically do most of the dungeons with AI but you can't exactly summon AI to help you clear the FATES. It's a shame how many of these interesting encounters I have to just walk right on by when leveling or exploring just because I know I can't solo it.

    Maybe they could do a better job at categorizing them too. So you can have stuff that any class can solo just be something that doesn't have an option to ask for help with. While the stuff that NEEDS groups can.

    Fates should be the same as Bozja/Zadnor Fates, and also spawn world bosses similar to Bozja, really they are such a boring grind, who ever did Bozja should be in Charge for Fates too.
