So I really can't take screenshots of my game...

As the thread title replies, I really can't take screenshots of my game. There's no Scroll Lock on my keyboard (I'm on a Dell laptop that was released last year), but I do have Print Screen. Instead of taking the screenshots of in-game, I have to take screenshots of my Windower and then crop the window. In turn, I have my chat log and everything else visible. I'm not sure if taking a full-screen screenshot is only available if you DO NOT use the Windower for the game. I haven't tried it out yet...

Here's what I mean:



See what I mean? Are there any other keys I could use to take a screenshot without my chat log and everything else showing up? Or do I have to play the game at full screen to do it? I use the windower so I can look stuff up on the game on the Internet while playing, and when I did have full screen up the game crashed (same with FFXI at full screen) because someone sent me an IM on one of IM services. So like I said, are there other options or buttons to press to take a screenshot without having to crop things? Please help

It's a laptop. While I know you can use a keyboard with it, it wouldn't be optimal.

I disagree, I like keyboards for gaming on my laptop as well as adding a mouse.


Use the onscreen keyboard since you already use windower, works just as well.

I launch XIV through Steam and take screenshots with it. Works fine.

If your wanting to hide the UI, then the only way I know of is to find a program to remap keys.

You have a compact laptop keyboard, your scroll lock is going to be a function key. All keyboards have the same keys, opposed to optional gaming keyboards.

I have a HP DV6 and in the same situation, no scroll lock button ><. Per the gentleman's post above I downloaded MapKeyBoard it was simple enough, picked an unused button (In my case the "*" button on the number pad) selected to map it to scroll lock, and now I can take screen shots with the best of em. ^^

I haven't seen a keyboard without all the keys associated with it. It's probably just a combined key and requires the function key to be used in conjunction with it.
