    ffxiv.exe errors since 6.3

    Ever since patch 6.3, I've quite frequently had my game crash due to either the ffxiv.exe errors or the ffxiv.direct.exe error, and I'm not sure what I can do to fix it. Just now I was unable to log back into game until I was kicked out of the boss instance due to that .exe error. Is there anything I can do? (My drivers are up to date)

    I'm very sorry to hear that you've been experiencing these issues since the patch. Would it be possible to ask if you could you provide a system report? You may do this by going to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.' and copy and paste the information there into a reply here. Additionally, what troubleshooting have you tried so far to try and resolve this issue?

    Hello Eenkalzet,

    As far as troubleshooting, so far I've just made sure all my drivers were up to date and verified the integrity of my games files on steam, and I am currently intending to go a Restore Game Data. There has been times where the error the appears is a DirectX11 error and starting the game with DirectX9 will work at the time, but other times the ffxiv.exe error pops up instead.     I don't know if you managed to fix your problem, but i had similar issues, and what helped me was to actually roll back my nvidia driver... the version i'm currently running is 526.98... hope it somehow helps you.

    We would like to apologize for the inconvenience you are experiencing. We would ask of you to please attempt the following to see if these suggestions can help with the issue you are experiencing.

    - Did you notice this issue occurring after the update of the game as well as possibly after the update of the graphics drivers? We may also try the suggestion of your fellow adventurer of possibly rolling back 1 version to test if the error still persists.
    - Perform a clean boot by opening the task manager and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything.
    - Please be sure to disable or remove any overlays (Discord, Steam, Nvidia, etc.) as they may interfere with startup.
    - Make sure that the Windows OS is fully updated. You may also try using the Windows sfc /scannow command in a command prompt window to check for errors.
    - We can also suggest a full uninstall of the game. This will include clearing the Final Fantasy XIV folder that is located in the My Games folder. The location would be My Documents > My Games > Final Fantasy - A Realm Reborn (This folder will contain settings such as UI Settings, Macros & Screenshots. You may delete this folder or rename it and move it to a different location should you still wish to copy settings or save the screenshots in question)

    If you do not see any improvements, please feel free to respond to this thread for further troubleshooting.

    Hey Eenkalzet,

    I noticed this issues shortly after the patch, and I only made the graphics updates afterwards. Since performing the restore game data, I've not had any crashes! So seems like that was able to resolve it. Thank you for all your help and suggestions
