Completed Island Sanctuary, stupid min/max grind and incredibly boring. I've just got a maintenance cycle on the workshop now to farm the currency. Zero satisfaction because there is no economies of scale and it feels so artificial. It was a relief more than anything to complete that. You will always gather 1 item from a node no matter if you have the pickaxe of a thousand swings gifted to you by the 12, or a stone pickaxe that you made out of a twig and a pebble. Animal taming is just RNG, and more frustrating than anything. Overall, it would have been best if they never implemented it into the game in the first place. My 90 gathering rendered completely useless. It literally has been the most boring content I've done in the game so far alongside the V&C dungeons.

You're right, some people will grind the fun out of the game for things, others won't. It's very much down to the individual. That's why when the make it rain event happens, you have a bunch of people grinding the fun out of the game with the gold saucer. That's why when you have the moogle tomestone event, you also have people grinding the fun out of the game for tomestones before it ends for the limited rewards and MGP cards because these are the best times to get the most MGP...

If you have MGP cards constantly available through tomestones, then people won't feel pressured to constantly grind the fun out of the game during these limited time events. People will go about their business doing content and when they're tomestone capped, they'd go and buy an MGP card.

Must be great for that hour window that most people can play to get that bonus cactpot prize...unfortunately, other people have things such as families, work etc during that hour long claim window for the bonus MGP. at that time for example, I'm actually picking up my partner from work... So we always miss out on that bonus.

I don't know about you though, I'm not a scratch card guy...so it's not fun to go do the same thing day in day out on the off chance you get a decent reward. The only decent thing in the gold saucer really is the triple triad when you get the opportunity to play against other people. And as I stated already in my post, the payouts for the Open Tournament is ridiculously low compared to the time invested for the winner, let alone the losers. And to do the triple triad open tournament you miss out on 2 Gatesin the 30 minute window which will almost always award more MGP than if you played and won 3 triple triad open tournaments back to back.

Now that part I very much agree with. The Open Tournament rewards are very low for the time investment, especially when you're guaranteed to miss out on a GATE or two in the process. At the very least they should make the payout equal to the GATEs you're skipping.
