I don't think i came to the right place for intelligible debates. All it has been is "MGP payouts are fine, you can do it all in ten years and I still have 4m MGP left from buying the latest mount even though my account is from 2013".

Bear in mind that part of the Yoshi Ps philosophy of this game is to play as much or as little as you want. But to get anywhere with the Gold Saucer, you have to essentially play FF14 religiously every week...

You keep throwing out the "you've been doing it for years" argument. What you don't understand, from the point of view of someone that hasn't done it for years, is that MGP payout has been buffed over time. Let's count the ways:

Lord of Verminion. Only introduced in 3.1. Lots of first time bonus MGP, as well as additional Challenge Log entries for weekly gains.
Mini Cactpot: Cost of entry used to be high enough that you could actually lose MGP on bad cards. Cost now reduced to be a guaranteed profit.
Jumbo Cactpot: Used to be one entry per week. They've literally tripled your profits here, as well as tripling your (incredibly small) chance of hitting a jackpot.
Mahjong has been introduced, with associated Challenge Log entries, for players inclined towards the game.
Fashion Report: Wasn't added until 4.2. Weekly 10,000 participation reward is frankly huge for no effort, and a few minutes of research and legwork can add on an additional 50,000.
GATEs: Used to run twice an hour, x:15 and x:45. GATEs run three times an hour now, significantly increasing MGP gain.
Additionally (and, someone correct me if I'm wrong here), Any Way The Wind Blows has been changed to scaling payout, awarding more than just a consolation prize if you can at least survive past the first round. At the very least, payout has been significantly increased since release.
Also also, the GATEs themselves have been cycled. Players would often complain about failing the old Skinchange We Can Believe In or Vase Off GATEs.
Think you maybe also had to pay MGP to participate in GATEs...
Squadrons have been introduced, which give individual players access to MGP buffs without taking up an FC buff slot.
The moogle tomestone event has been introduced, giving players a means of acquiring MGP through content outside of Gold Saucer.
One could argue that TT has gotten easier over time with the addition of new cards allowing any player to make a reasonably powerful/reliable deck, lots of easily accessible Challenge Log MGP from here.

So. Yeah. The biggest reason older players aren't as on board with increasing payouts is because we're all entirely aware that payouts have already been increased over time.

Then with all those aforementioned changes, what's the increase in MGP rewards that have been introduced since then? And with more rewards yet to come, the 1.5 years i've been playing, there have been 5m + of rewards added but no increase in MGP payouts...

You also haven't addressed my point about open tournament or the cosmetic from the Jumbo Cactpot as with other posters here.

The "play when you want" philosophy is about not being impossibly behind on gear, raid, etc progression if you come in mid patch or mid expansion. You still have to put in the time and effort if you want the rewards. The Gold Saucer is specifically designed to be a very slow, very casual grind.

You keep talking about how we don't care that it'll take you years to get all the items because already have them, as if we didn't also spend years farming MGP. Why is it exactly that you think the grind shouldn't apply to you just because you're a newer player?
