    odd thread..,
What I boiled it down to..,
would like them to add more "Types" Of Masculinity.[not only to -main- npcs. But Characters..,]

Can only say, if we end up in a new area of the unexplored world, or new one entirely. they may try, but I doubt it would be much.
<unless much of the recent asks, has made them realize what players want for customization. Specially IF the Graphics update extends so far.

[Harmless thread, harmless.., Post limit Reduced. Odd thread.]

I honestly dont think How a Character looks, is as important as having just...yknow, a Good Character.
But both terms of Character designs are subjective.

I think everyone looks fine. Every picture Aveyond-Dreams posted in this thread is just "Fine"
I dont find anybody handsome or Ugly. I guess to me the Ugliest Picture he posted is Basch. Thats not the best image you could have used mate. And then for "Handsome" for me its a Tie between Nahbdeen & Varshahn, and its because their designs pop out a bit with the colors especially with the outfit/armor and stuff.
Clive from FFXVI (16) looks Boring and Generic. I see nothing special or Handsome about him.

But again, what I value is the "Character" of the character. Not how they look.
Because ugly characters can be awesome, while handsome characters can be unlikable. Looks can only do so much.

Her face reminds me of a male Viera too !

I’m playing with JP voices and French subtitles, the subtitles are clearly treating Zero as a woman, judging by the grammar used by the translation team.
Her voice has some Megumi Ogata vibes, the kind of seiyuu who typically voice strong women and androgynous characters.

is there a prize for "biggest non-issue posted in the forums"? it's the only way I can figure out why stuff like this keeps getting posted.

Aveyond's preferred method of trolling is to stop just short of having a point, make it obvious that he's really only acting mad because he didn't get what he wanted, and then dismiss any attempt at actual discussion while acting like the other person's at fault. After a while, you just learn to take him as a joke.

Aveyond-Dreams threads are pretty tragic, because he COULD make good points everyone agrees with...but then doesnt lol

Handsome and masculine are not the same thing. However, both are male characteristics. The only thing that distinguishes Zero as a female is her VA. If you put a male VA in there, I would immediately assume that Zero is a male.

That said, I don't find Zero to be handsome or masculine. She is also not someone I would refer to as feminine either. The character is androgynous. She could be really pretty if allowed to be because she has the face for it, but this would require for her to take on more feminine traits. A handsome man is the same thing just on the male side of the spectrum. It doesn't require for a man to be rugged, but many people, myself included find these features on a man to be very handsome. Solid Snake from Metal Gear with his beard fits this example. So does old man Rhalgr. Both are very handsome, rugged, and very masculine.

A face like Zero's could be considered handsome, but for someone like me, if it lacks that ruggedness then it just comes off more boyish and I am not attracted to that at all. Youthfulness and lack of experience is what propels attractiveness in females, while the opposite works for males. I'm old-fashioned though. I can actually agree with the OP on this one, and would love to see more 'survived in the trenches' types of males in this game.

Is this not the 4th or so time aveyond has made a thread about the games apparent lack of 'handsom' characters?

As Zero is one of my favourite characters at the moment that article looks fascinating, will have to find some translation of it. Honestly I did see her as a woman from the start, tough I could see why people may see her more as androgynous/male especially due to her outfit. Can certainly see how she may have started as a genderless character (In fact would have been kinda cool if they made her non-binary!) Handsom can be used for women too, take how people in the Valentione quest often referred to the girls in suits with the ‘handsom’ trait.

I think no one would object with a more ‘rugged/handsom’ character joining our team (Though I would say Estinie is handsome…) but its not the end of the world if they do not appear, I feel. You should not take it personally or as some sort of meta commentary. One of the reasons I love the games cast is because they often do not adhere to the sometimes stereotypical rules some JRPGS impose. Sure there are such archetypes we would all like to see join the cast, such as a musclebound FemRo… just in time for the new graphic update so they can show off all the muscle definition they will give us? Please?
