So the trick to tanking is to realize that every dungeon is the same.
If you've done the few outliers in ARR, you've essentially seen all the exotic things a dungeon has to offer. They are always now going to be a line with a couple of pulls of mobs to some sort of blockade or door. You kill those mobs the door opens. You then are presented with another hallway with no branching paths with another couple of pulls of mobs. You then are presented with a boss room.
The above repeats two more times and you're done the dungeon!

Tanking is exceptionally easy once you've realized how simple everything is. However it seems to still have this awe of heightened responsibility or something that scares people off from it. I assure you there is no responsibility and everything is the DPS's fault!

Jokes aside it's really kinda lame how everything is simplified imo, but it really does make it easy and predictable to how a dungeon will go.

My recommendation is going for the 50/60/70/80 roulette. With tomestone gear, you are ensured to be overgeared, which on that avoid being handycapped (where leveling roulette has a big risk). They are also generaly doable with w2w, so on that there isnt a lot of risk either. Just dont use sprint when grabbing mobs to ensure your teammates can keep up. And your knowledge of other classes should already be a good pacing indication anyway.

The fates or MSQ roulette can be a good reminder on ability rotations, but outside of that barely do involve any depth. They are only usefull to remember what each button does.

The thing to focus most on is ensuring that you have the aggro of all enemies. As this is where most failures happen (once you dont have it, and mobs attack the others, it can quickly result in some deaths). And to ensure aggro, do 2 of your AoE hits per group before going on (1 might cause a few enemies to still not have been in range). Dont worry about dpses taking over the aggro, they at the wall will run past to you to allow you to easily take the aggro back (and if they dont, its their fault).

Do that, and you quickly can get back into tanking, and optimize your playstyle.
