EU Fanfest tickets with NA sub?

Looking at the presale/lottery for the NA tickets, I got to wondering... I moved from NA to Europe (Switzerland) last year and never changed servers because I didn't want to lose my friends/start from scratch.

Since the presale lottery only extends to NA account holders attending the NA event, will the same apply to EU holders? I hope my server doesn't affect my (or any others') eligibility, but there is still time to make an alt...

it's hard to say at the moment but if they go the same route with europe fanfest it could be a problem for you. its not on what server u play on its based on where the account is made as it say on the site ( active subscriptions who possess a North American Square Enix account). it could mean that u need europen Square Enix account for the Eu fanfest

Be careful, an alt is not enough, you have to buy the game and subscription. I tried without, it doesn't work... Pretty discriminating if you ask me.

Context edit: I live in Swiss too. I have EU account but play on Aether. I wanted to go to the US fest, also to combine the trip to visit my sister. I cannot register to the lottery cause i have EU account...

I do agree it sucks if each fanfest is locked to only players from specific regions, but I also understand they want a better chance for players from each region to have priority. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember there ever being tickets left over by the time the General Ticket Sales roll in. Hopefully this time it's different, but even then they already have the disclaimer up that this might still be the case. Either way, there are still ways to "cheat" the system. Can still have friends with no interest in going to also apply, have enough money to have multiple active accounts, etc. I don't fully agree with it, but it is what it is at this point. Only time and player feedback (in the form of rage posts lol) will tell if this was a good idea or not.

Edit: Keeping this post relevant to the main point, that's a pretty big oversight by SE imo. People move and for understandable reasons, people wouldn't want a separate account and lose all their progress just to make a new account that matches where they live.

If we are getting a lottery too I think easiest way would be an throwaway account you can make with a 10 EUR Starting Edition. Add then one month of Sub and you should be able to bid. But it sucks to throw even more money into Squares greedy hands just for an oppurtunity to be lucky.
