Yeah, I thought I was spared those errors when I was saving gearsets and re-editing Portraits after the smallest of changes like Materia extraction or getting a new item > saving the new set > changing away and then back to the set to reapply the Glamour Plate... Then I started getting errors at the start of instances anyway, on Jobs I hadn't even played on for a hot minute until then. This game, I swear.

It is pretty easy to fix. Any change you do just update gear set then go to portrait edit/and save.

It’s annoying how often I need to edit/Save. It should update automatically to your new gear or just keep the photo from what you wore at the time of the portrait.

Other than that I do love this feature and now commend my favorite portrait each group rather than default to tank or heals, absent someone being exceptional or the most fun socially.

Something else I'd like them to do, but I don't imagine many people care about: Stop having it automatically adjust the availability @ time pips based on DST/ST. It's annoying to have to shift them.

I tend to forget to edit/save my portraits and only end up remembering when I see it in the duty I join, but I feel like they might end up implementing it eventually that it would automatically save, but idk.

Sometimes there is a bug where you update your gear and when you go to portrait you do not see /!\ next to it and you can't edit it but if you don't edit it it will go back to default portrait whenever entering duty.
Whenever it's happening I'm importing the portrait either from adventurer plate or another job who has the same setup.

You get the error due to the weapon being different. Depending on the last time you updated your adventure plate the gear shown in the portrait for the plate could have changed since then.

A bit long winded but.. this works 99% of the time if for some reason it's not working.

1) Remove a piece of gear
2) Update gear set
3) Open Portrait
4) Edit + Save
5) Put piece of gear on
6) Update gear set
7) Open Portrait
8) Edit + Save

Done.

This is what I do when the "normal way of how it's supposed to work" just doesn't work.

Pretty much this. I think the only thing I do different is:
- Remove a piece of gear
- Update gear set
- Put back on that piece of gear
- Update gear set
- Open Portrait
- Edit Save

I haven't seen those extra steps needed, but there might be corner cases. Frankly, I wish I could just macro all of that in the game.

My portrait likes to randomly break for no reason. I can be on the same class, same gear, no changes to glamour, materia, or repair. It'll be working fine for the first few roulettes and then all of the sudden it reverts to default. I'll check the menu and it won't have the warning symbol beside it to say it needs to be updated. I'll try to edit it and change the expression or something, go into a duty and it'll still be broken. I have to completely reset it to default and upload the settings from a different class for it to be fixed.
