    Instant Portraits

So I thought I had the applying instant portraits process down, but I still get the surprise default portrait at times. It's got me going in unsynced dungeons just to make sure they apply properly, but it's a hassle.

Has anyone found an infalliable way to apply them correctly?

Why can't they just decouple Instant Portraits from your glamour dresser and simply have them reflect your current job's glam? It would be so much simpler and reliable.

    Heres some few absolute checks.

    1. Make sure you hit the gear update button on your character sheet

    2. If youve assigned a glam plate linked to your gearset, make sure all the glam items work for it.

    3. Always make sure to hit the update gearset and portrait if you see a yellow triangle symbol.

    4. If all else fails, delete the gearset and remake the portrait again and do the same checks as listed above

Yeah its a real pain sometimes. I hope they fix this system some day.

Yeah that was my checklist as well. Still get the issue sometimes. I Also delete the gearset and remake it when I can't figure it out, but that's also a hassle.

    Done.

This is what I do when the "normal way of how it's supposed to work" just doesn't work.
Basically doing the check twice, by truly refreshing the gearset each time? I'll try that. Thanks!

Pretty much this. I think the only thing I do different is:
    - Remove a piece of gear
    - Update gear set
    - Put back on that piece of gear
    - Update gear set
    - Open Portrait
    - Edit Save

I haven't seen those extra steps needed, but there might be corner cases. Frankly, I wish I could just macro all of that in the game.

This is what I end up doing most of the time. Haven't failed me yet

I mostly do the same thing except I just toggle the weapon. Before I do that, I queue for satasha unsynched, if my portrait is how I want, I don't need to fiddle with it anymore and leave. Its like holding up a mirror.

If you at any time take off your helmet or put it back on this will break your portrait. If you dye the item, cast a glamor over it, remove it or if it's a tome item and you've upgraded it these will break your portrait. I.E if you went and upgraded the Lunar Envoy's Justaucorps of Healing to Augmented Lunar Envoy's Justaucorpe of Healing even though the outward look of it hasn't changed the item tag in the game files has. Just pretend it is a more finicky version of the Fashion Report.
