Instant Portraits

Sometimes there is a bug where you update your gear and when you go to portrait you do not see /!\ next to it and you can't edit it but if you don't edit it it will go back to default portrait whenever entering duty.
Whenever it's happening I'm importing the portrait either from adventurer plate or another job who has the same setup.

You get the error due to the weapon being different. Depending on the last time you updated your adventure plate the gear shown in the portrait for the plate could have changed since then.

My portrait likes to randomly break for no reason. I can be on the same class, same gear, no changes to glamour, materia, or repair. It'll be working fine for the first few roulettes and then all of the sudden it reverts to default. I'll check the menu and it won't have the warning symbol beside it to say it needs to be updated. I'll try to edit it and change the expression or something, go into a duty and it'll still be broken. I have to completely reset it to default and upload the settings from a different class for it to be fixed.

Sometimes I'll not figure out what in the eff broke my portrait even if I didn't really change anything. I go in, hit the arrow for the next background, hit the back arrow for the background I was using, save. Makes it easier. It's such a pain if I forget to do that.

Agreee! Just have the 'default' be a general portrait with whatever you're wearing right now.

So I thought I had the applying instant portraits process down, but I still get the surprise default portrait at times. It's got me going in unsynced dungeons just to make sure they apply properly, but it's a hassle.

Has anyone found an infalliable way to apply them correctly?

Why can't they just decouple Instant Portraits from your glamour dresser and simply have them reflect your current job's glam? It would be so much simpler and reliable.

As somebody who often incorporate those accessories slots... I cry to admit that this would've fix about 1/4 of times I went inside duties with broken portrait. :sob:

I just turned all the sets to Instant Portrait: Off, and it just displays what I'm wearing as that set at the time. No screwing around with it.

It is so scuffed. I didn't change a single piece of gear on my WAR and just retrieved spiritbonded materia and it loaded up the default portrait. The next time I went into an instance I edited the portrait beforehand and it still reverted to the basic. Like God damn.
