huh, thats a good point. and I am sure my parents bought every blanket they ever produced so I remember those colours... too bad the blankets werent very comfyWith certain yellow dyes it looks like the Hudson's Bay Company's signature colours. One of Canadas oldest companies from the British that populated the country, largely important for fur trades across the tundra. It's historically important to our culture.
I call out to my fellow Canadians to rise up and tell Square Enix what we really think! That everything is pretty cool and thanks for the inclusion.

Grifting idiots who refuse to get real jobs. They do this all the time, it's nothing new.

When did the council who a little over two months ago when this outfit was put into the cash shop contact SE? Also again back then people on Twitter and other social media who are Sami repeatedly said said council didn't speak for them. This article should have been written back around the 14th of December not almost March. When did they find out about the outfit? Cause if it was after it had been put into the cash shop then it'd of been too late as it would have already gone live and a lot of people who had already bought it. This does kind of smell like all they want is money as the outfit itself and how said attire is shown in Frozen doesn't cast a bad light on the culture. I want to say I only heard them make a stink about the outfit around when Frozen 2 was about to come out.
*plays the world's smallest violin to the Sammi Council* Love people don't have a spine these days. Have to cancel everything because feelings
France, UK, Scandinavia, Russia can't do it because we're ineligible for cultural appropriation. The ignorant people here are those blindly supporting this council. This has nothing to do with respecting the culture or historical oppression. They are looking for money. It's highly evident that is all they actually want. A culture is not suddenly respected because a council got a payday. If anything the initial exposure showed some people the Sami culture in one form for the first time, and the outfit itself is respectful. The second exposure is this council looking for a money grab, whereas they had already gotten one from Disney. The second exposure is a bad look here.
Imagine if France, China, England/UK, India, Mongolia, all of Scandinavia, Russia, Italy, various tribes, and even the United States said to stop appropriating anything related to themselves, whether it be outfits, architecture, names, classes/jobs, foodstuffs, or whatever.
Whatever happened to cultural APPRECIATION? Friends FC mate in Finland said none of the Sami he knows give a crap.
It's a money grab.

Hope you and all the people in your region have been having a good day.
We appreciate your input very much.

it's sadly expected, but unfortunate that a number here cannot see past politics, agendas, and History. to see with eyes unclouded the reality which anyone can read from the article. as being clearly for Money only.
Many situations show proof of being Actually harmful to people, and set harmful precedence.[i don't have to mention H.Legacy, or A.Hearts] which oddly enough, all similar instances coming out in the same timespan.
Hopefully the thread ends soon enough.
in respectful terms between all.
Since in the end, those who live in said Region as shown by the few examples here who came forward. They had either no issue, or appreciated the Respect SE gave in its design.
As a Finlandaise person I can say that the Sami Council doesn't represent every Sami person. Also it's not cultural appropriation it's cultural appreciation. For a huge mmorpg to represent a very small minority in the frozen north in any way is a huge honor not an insult.
