If you got to cheat to win that says enough about you and it ain’t muchYes, and so is crossing a red light for pedestrians even if it's 3 AM and there's no cars around, so ? Do you see cops going all over the place arresting or giving citations to people crossing red pedestrian lights when there's no cars around ? No. Except overzealous cops.
Is it agaisnt TOS ? Yes, does anyone care aside from a small minority ? No.
I think the crux of the issue is the classic imposing one personal belief on another. Sure mods are breaking the ToS and some are cheating thing is some people just don't care or refuse to accept it.
Thing is I do not think we should promote witch hunting because people are breaking the rules especially where it really has no negative impact on others.
This is like the animal crossing star tree drama, where people would go and look for worlds that had star trees and report them because they modified their game which broke the ToS.
Live and let live, if people want to cheat let 'em not saying you have to be okay with it. Don't associate, or acknowledge their wins but no need to treat them like they are monsters and wish D
Divine punishment on them.
If I knew for a fact someone was cheating whether it affects me or not and did nothing about it then I'm complicit in their actions and indirectly support their choices which does bother me as I have no desire to be apart of that. That is my choice as much as it is theirs to cheat.I think the crux of the issue is the classic imposing one personal belief on another. Oh no, whatever will happen ? You are "complicit" of their actions, are you going to end up behind bars and go to court because someone else used a zoom hack or made them glam look cuter than their character is ?If I knew for a fact someone was cheating whether it affects me or not and did nothing about it then I'm complicit in their actions and indirectly support their choices which does bother me as I have no desire to be apart of that. It would, yes, but that wouldnt be because of "these players", it would be because of Yoshi P and every dev that was involved in taking that decision. If we have to remove every piece of content that can be ""cheated"", then remove roulettes, pvp, extremes, ultimates, crafting and gathering, and let us just sit in limsa all day.

We both know I'm not talking about glam mods or anything of the sort. You're just reaching at that point.
As I said don't associate or acknowledge them. Leave the group do your own thing, but this witch hunting mindset we have around it is petty at best, malicious at worse. Live and let live, no need to have the community go out hunting for people, or treating cheaters like they are vile sub humans. Not saying everyone feels that way, but really that is the energy many give off.If I knew for a fact someone was cheating whether it affects me or not and did nothing about it then I'm complicit in their actions and indirectly support their choices which does bother me as I have no desire to be apart of that. I don't wish for cheaters to burn at the stake, only to face the consequences of their choice. Now if I had undeniable proof that someone was cheating, reported them and they faced punishment would that not suggest the devs support this much at least? As I said don't associate or acknowledge them. I have no interest in witch hunting but I also have no desire to watch the playerbase shoots themselves in the foot because they lack self-control and any personal dignity when it concerns skill. If there are consequences later for the choices of these players then what right would I have to complain if I knew and sat there but chose to do or say nothing?
Live and let live....until you pay the price.
What price is the community going face in a realistic sense? SE will most likely never add a Spyware type thing, it would not make much sense to remove ultimates altogether, that is pretty much the only time FFXIV trends on twitch outside of expansions.I don't wish for cheaters to burn at the stake, only to face the consequences of their choice. Hell one could even make the argument that show casing these mods shows the devs how it positively impacts player experience.
Like I would not be shocked come 7.0 we are allowed to zoom out even further. Yoshi-P is not dumb he understand tye importance of ultimates.
This reminds me of the fear mongering around buying in game currency. As someone that sold WoW gold as a kid and allowed me to buy mu first car. The buyer is largely safe from punishment for the most part. Sure some get caught but more often then not they are safe. Also the one selling the gold is more likely to get scammed via charge backs
