Id rather not. Let the dead, stay dead.

He should definitely stay dead this time.
If he came back as a lalafell I would stuff him in a blender.

It does feel like they've closed the book on him to be honest. There doesn't seem to be any weight behind the 'but his avatar' argument either now, considering we know the state of play there too.

Definitely on the train for his return.

In the context of this discussion, what would they actually do with him if he were to somehow reappear?
I mean, having him become an ally of any kind would seem completely unrealistic, not to mention political suicide (Garlemald in general seems to hate him) not to mention out of character.
And I suspect the Alliance would rather like to seem him locked away in some dark prison in the middle of nowhere.
Having him sitting around bored again would be completely pointless.
Having him continue his obsession with the Warrior of Light would be counterproductive since that story element ran it's course.
I do honestly think that they did the right thing. I enjoyed his character arc, but I don't see where else they could've gone with it.

He stopped breathing in the last cutscene.
