Dungeon penalty shouldn't count for queuing something solo

What I'm talking about is god forbid somebody has to leave in the middle of a dungeon because something comes up, then after they've taken care of their business, 10minutes later they can't queue for Deep dungeon, battle parlor, leap of faith, solo dungeons, old content. This is ridiculous

This is like if you ask an uber driver to drop you off early and then you aren't allowed to start your own car for 30minutes. This is extremely archaic.

You can't even go into the diadem, eureka, bozja. Its like sorry, you had to leave for (*Insert reason*) Now you can't do 90% of the content in the game for 30minutes.

Ya, screw the other people that now have to wait for your replacement before they can continue the content.

The penalty is there for a reason and its to prevent abuse. If you're constantly having to leave your game for whatever reason then you should use the trust system.

I totally get it but its there to prevent over abuse of people leaving undesirable duties.

If they removed that penalty, then it wouldn't be much of a penalty at all. It's not supposed to feel good.
One thing you can do if you ever have to leave is ask your party to vote kick you to bypass it.

You can ask them to dismiss you, but at that point you're asking for some to be on the balance if they decide to mess with or not.

unless the emergency or occurrence that had to be dealt with was shorter than 30m, I doubt you'd see that unless you didn't plan on afk for abit.

I understand that pain, only once, had the game flagged me for 30m, but that's cause I left a match a millisec before the Results came up in a banner.
[for those in pvp, once you see victory or defeat, you're cleared to exit. but don't risk the timings unless you know exactly when it unlocks the match to freely leave. a few seconds could match you up differently, but it's hardly much change]

it is what it is, go again..,
and ask devs to keep the penalty up for all users. that way players get pushed to use disband, and don't have some "take one for the team" in what they think some others will leave, or won't leave with them.
They can improve this system at the very least, so asking for a dismiss isn't harmful or out of the question, or interruptive to the progress of instances.

If something came up important enough you needed to take care of it right away you can either ask the party if they're okay waiting for x amount or the penalty should be the least of your concerns. If it was only ten minutes long, throw on a YouTube video and you'll be fine. The whole purpose of the penalty is to discourage people from doing it regularly unless absolutely necessary. If they could do solo content, it gives them additional recourse to simply ditch content they don't like.

With the V-Day event a guy didn't like queuing up with another guy so he logged off. I waited for a few minutes before leaving myself.

Got nailed with the penalty so I was stuck doing sit-ups in Uldah for 30 minutes.

Why is it people always have to be so dramatic about "it is your fault that I have my problem!!".

I have seen everything from people carelessly throw away their gears, buying the wrong thing, they're too slow to dodge an attack, the cat jump on their keyboard .etc. Yet somehow the conclusion is always it's SE's fault!

Like ... how often these emergency happens to you that 'cause this situation. If it happens enough for it to become a problem to you than you should really evaluate your environment or playing schedule. And if it's not ... just move on. Like this happens to me sometime too, maybe once or twice a year but I just either go stretch my leg or find some open word activities to do while waiting out the timer instead of getting pissy about it.


This kind of reaction is like walking down a crowded street, have someone pumped into you by accident and decide to write the letter to the governor demanding action to be taken. The way some people on this forum create issue out of some extreme minor inconvenience make me wonder how they actually react if people just look at them the wrong way in RL.
