"Steel Reign" level sync should be reduced

Now that Odin has been capped to level 50, the fight's become a complete pushover while everyone syncs to 70. Used to be one of the last exciting things that would happen in ARR zones. Also a great way to work towards the Kindness of Strangers achievements, with dead bodies just littering the ground everywhere.

I don't know if syncing to 60 would correct any of these issues, but it feels like a good place to start.

But, considering how long Behemoth has also been synced to 70, and has also been a quick burn fight, I wouldn't have high hopes of this.

In my recent experience, getting people to come for Behemoth and Odin can be difficult. I've had better luck getting people to show up for those rare boss FATEs such as Coeurl, Archaeotania and that one in Azim Steppe. Could be they are just trying to get people to get those rewards by making it simpler to clear.

Can't really speak for Behemoth, but I do know the few rare times I've caught it, he just melted. Which explains why I haven't caught it often, because it's never noteworthy.

Odin was always fairly reliable to bring a crowd, tho. Granted, the rewards off of it are kinda meh. But still, there were numerous factors keeping it active. The region-wide weather indicator is a huge attention grabber. Unlike most of the other big ones, there's always folks around to see it spawning (especially with PotD in the region). And the level scaling made sure it was usually some chaotic fun.

I can't help but feel the level cap now will lessen engagement from high level players that would otherwise at least swing by to watch a level 55+ Odin just killing players by the dozens.

I totally agree, while in the past Odin used to be a badass fate now it feels like having paper thin bulk. The other day I did this fate with some people, we werent a lot but still we destroyed Odin, dont even talk about his ultimate attack, Shin-Zantetsuken, the cast didnt even reach half bar. I still didnt fight Behemoth so cant comment on it.

I think level 60 is a good compromise like OP said.

I miss when Odin slapped so hard you needed dedicated healers to cleanse the physical vuln up on the tank after each hit and prepped multiple tanks to build aggro at different intervals in case the first tank dies.

Can't have large-scale hard fights it seems.

Hard to have a large scale hard FATE when only 16-20 players show up and none of them understand the mechanics. Most players don't see a point to doing Odin more than once for the achievement.

I'm not certain if it's the addition of gemstones or world visit that had more of an impact. Back in Stormblood, we would always have big turnouts for Odin despite most of us having the achievement already. Players were competing to see who got to be the next Odin, and also because they loved to help new players experience it.

Then world visit arrived and it was less interesting when the next Odin was someone that no one recognized because they were from another world. Shadowbringers comes along and new FATEs had the gemstones that could be used to purchase a lot of different things while Odin only had the mantles that were useless to those who had already bought everything they were interested in.
In the end most players are reward driven so if there's no reward they want, they're unlikely to go. GC Seals are far too easy to get through Expert Deliveries to make those an incentive.

At least Odin still has some steel left in him. Behemoth is tissue paper in comparison.
