Doman Majong is a cancer and i hate it!

    This game makes ZERO sense.

I have put countless hours in on the novice table trying to get a feel for it, every time i think i have something, its like they arbitrarily change the rules.
Despite trying to read guides, they make about as much sense as reading gibberish.

I just want the bloody music roll already and to never touch this cancer again!
Hell on OCE There are literally zero people who play because they are smart enough to never try learn this crap to begin with!

SE the least you could do is make this game make sense, hell put in a system that teaches us to play in terms that don't look like they are letters tossed together by RNG lol.

I mean, i don't even get how you are supposed to win? I get you need a 3 tile strait or 3 of the same, but the RNG is so bad, you will never get the tiles you need, nor will the AI you can uhh.... Steal? them from?
The hint system? ALWAYS LOSES! so there's no way to learn from that.

Seriously, do us a favor and put the music roll up for MGP so we dont have to try and work out this literally dead content on my data center!

Rant done, sorry everyone, this games just too stupid and infuriating for me to work out.

I feel you, it can be complicated to pick up Riichi Mahjong (the real-world name for Doman Mahjong) at first.
And it's rough that the orchestrion scroll and titles are gated behind rating, something that can go down the more you play, in a game as chance-based (and slim on players) as this.

The game provides the Mahjong Tutor in the gold saucer for general advice - but to get more concrete advice, you need concrete questions.

When it comes to how you're supposed to win - there are two things your hand has to do to win:
    1) With only two exceptions ("7 pairs" being the more common one), your hand has to consist of four melds (straights or sets of 3) and a pair.
    2) Your hand has to fulfil at least one "yaku", or win condition - you see those listed whenever someone wins a hand.

The second one is the more complicated one, but you'll get a feel for it pretty soon.
Some of the more common win conditions your hand can fulfill are:
    - Completing your hand after calling "Riichi" when you're one tile from winning, without having called on any tiles
    - Completing your hand while it contains a set of dragon tiles, or of "your" wind, or of the round wind (starts with east for the first four dealer rounds)
    - Completing your hand while it contains no 1, 9, wind or dragon tiles
    - Completing your hand while every meld and the pair contains at least one 1, 9, wind or dragon tile
    - Completing your hand while it contains the same 3-tile strait of the same suit twice
    - Completing your hand while it contains the same 3-tile straight once in each suit
    - Completing your hand while it contains the straights 1-2-3, 4-5-6, 7-8-9 in the same suit
    ...and lots more like that.

You can fulfill multiple of these yaku, but you HAVE to fulfill at least one to win the hand.
The easiest ones are calling riichi with a closed hand (no stolen tiles), the "set of 3 dragon or appropriate wind tiles", and the "no 1, 9, wind or dragon tiles" ones.

Think of them like poker hands - and the more of these patterns your hand matches, the more points you get for it.
Rarer / harder patterns get you even more points. Some of them only work when you haven't taken anyone else's tiles, others just become worth less points if you have.

The dora (bonus) tiles also increase your score, but you can't win with a hand that doesn't fulfill a "real" win condition, even if you have bonus tiles.

I have a real life friend who can actually play this way too complicated game. He tried to explain it to me and tried to convince me that it was not actually that complicated - but in every round he had to mention some specific rule which only aplies under that and those conditions and it seemed like when they invented this game someone sat on the table and just made things up why he has won this round again >.>

It also does not help that the only people who still play this game are usually really good at it. It is extremely difficult as a newbie to not only understand the game, but also to actually win in PvP matches and get the points needed for the music scroll.

It’s a good thing not to answer your enemies. I scarcely ever do. Perhaps Emily is more like me than I am like myself. Perhaps she would rather not answer her friends, even. She keeps it all in her heart.

fortunately if your rating goes down too low, you have the option of resetting your mah jong status/profile so you can try again and not have to climb your way out of a hole.

    Same as Ultimates.
Why do I have to clear them for the title and weapons?
It is impossible and the PF player are to bad to get anywhere.

I demand that I can choose a weapon after 2 ours of playing a ultimate, no matter how far I get, everything else is unfair.
