This seems like it would be abused to dodge unpopular duties in mentor roulette.
If they don't change mentor queue this would just lead to mentors checking the bounty list to see if anyone is doing an ex before queueing up for their dumb mount.

So, if this were to take off… you add 1 person to a queue. Still need 2 to 6 more. To add to what VerdeLuck is stating; unpopular duties would take longer to fill, if even at all now that you’d be able to cherry pick the content. Good luck finding people patient and willing enough to help with specific content and add a long queue on top of that content

This is an interesting point, however, if said mentor would be willing to dodge that content because they aren't willing to do it this would be a better outcome than to put him in a duty he will most certainly bail on and or fail at. I'm not sure if this behavior would actually be detrimental or beneficial TBH lol. (Trapping players is never the answer)

Yes, you would need 2 or 6 more, and so as you sit in the queue the bounty will continue to increase. I am certain one of two things will happen, either the bounty will reach to the millions and become irresistible so it will fill, or the content is so brutal that there is noone willing to take it up and eventually the person will give up on it.

However, in spite of this, the net result is a positive one because it significantly increased the odds for the player to run the content and clear it. Where as right now, that content will not run, in the case it does miraculously run theres a high chance of failure and or dodging, and even less incentive for veteran players to seek out this sort of thrill.

Personally, I like to help out with hard duties, it makes the game fun, but even if I were to be extremely proactive at it and seek them out I'm pretty sure that 99% of the time I wouldn't even be aware of someone trying to clear something because they are queued in the DF and I have no way of knowing. The most vulnerable population to this would be the newest players, theoretically the ones we should work hardest at to make sure they have a good time and stay around.

If they added something like this I'd make it similar to Mentor but with a slight twist.

Make it to where it would rotate, daily or hourly, hot dungeons/raids. Pick from 10 or so of the most and show them as a list for "Current dungeons" and update it hourly. You wouldn't be able to pick which one you go in, it would just say "Hey, people really need help in these 10 instances/raids!" and that's it.

Except one more twist. It needs a heavier punishment to prevent people from going "lmao nope, I'll queue later" and bailing, after getting a dungeon on said list that they did not want.

1 Hour debuff instead of 30 minutes, specifically for this roulette.

Basically more of a "freebie" mentor roulette for people who want to help.

Heck, maybe add "first time bonus of the day" reward with a token that can be used on cosmetics and such.

Sounds like a PF that functions off duty roulette. Maybe it would be easier to have SE make players aware the PF exists ,or add an optional to simultaneously put what you are queuing for on the PF after say 15 min have passed, let it be a special tab.

ngl I was hoping you meant it as in, you actually go around and kill bots, harass the harrassers, kill stalkers and try to clean up the filth and dirt of the FFXIV community lol

I found a better way to play with the bots than killing them. If you have the patience, you can keep them tied up in Daniffen Pass for hours.

It could be a tab on the PF for sure, I guess this would make it a PF/DF hybrid. I still think to make it fun for vets though an increasing reward incentive needs to be provided.

We need to remember that this a solution to a fundamental problem that exists, which is that DF offers players the ability to queue for any duty, however, depending on the duty we all know they will not fill and anybody that could help will probably get funneled to other faster filling queues.

So the exchange here is ever increasing rewards for your time. Also, given that most Extremes (except current) are relatively easy because of Potency/ilvl creep it also provides a source of midcore content for players that they can engage in for meaningful rewards.

Making people aware that PF exists still leaves the DF practically broken for less popular/harder duties.
