You seem to have forgotten about the very nice Navigator's Ear. For those of us fishers that are going for the Hamlet fish (young indigo herring) (which is also less likely to be botted due to the fact that you have to move from school to school in order for each to respawn), we find that Navigator's Ears come in abundance. Maybe 2.5 stacks per 2 stacks of Young Indigo Herring. These sell for quite the penny when it comes to the time that the community decides to push for a level 2 hamlet. I recently got 300k for one day of fishing. They won't sell right away though, as you need to wait for people to want the level 2 hamlet (which happens every so often)

Fishing need a more action-oriented method ala FF11. In this state is boring imo.

In any case, the fishes caught could be used in various ways like to put them in an aquarium when housing will be released. In this case the game needs new colorful and exotic fishes (maybe also in some new exotic zones -similar to Purgonorgo Isle in FF11-).

Fisher pretty much sucks. What do you expect from the easiest class to bot to 50? Lol.

Not really. It's long and boooooooring but it is definitely not hard.

In FFXI accuracy food was always a must for every melee class. There were so many situations where you needed to use sushi for accuracy. There isn't as many accuracy issues in XIV and usually when there is people just switch their accessories. I think unless there was an adjustments to player/mob stats then something like 'Inside the Belly' is a nice idea for Fishers.

I think the new relic quests have helped the in-game economy and made Miner/Botanist an incredibly lucrative class so I can understand why Fisherman may feel like this.

I recently got 300k for one day of fishing.

As much as this is a decent amount, on my server at the minute you can sell Gold Ore+1 for 250k which I farm 4-8 of a day and they sell incredibly fast. It would be nice if Fisherman had something to concentrate on like this.

but lets take it this way you are saying that u can get 300k from Navigator ear at your server each day ok fair enough then what about Miner and Botanist?
BTN can sell Spruce logs for over 100k for each log
for Miner he can sell gold and ds ore if HQ for over 150k

so who got the short straw on SE tedious ways of making DoL a more lively class? Fisher > Why? > cuz u can get 300k from fishing Navigator ear while BTN and MIN can easily Sky-Rocket to 5mil+ in a day (Assuming).

You do have a point and someone else made that point too. And it was 300k for a few hours worth of fishing but you won't sell it in a day. It takes a few days to actually get it to sell. I don't know much about the other DoL hamlet items, but considering i've heard that 2mil is the average amount of gil each player has, 5-6 mil a day seems like overspeculation (although I do not know myself)

EDIT: I should post something constructive. So here it is.

Of all the changes fisher could have/should have (I love the system currently but I admit, we need some loving), there is exactly ONE thing I'd like for SE to give us. Just one.

I want to be able to sit down and fish.

NPCs do it. They're all over Limsa. I want to be able to sit, cross legged or legs hanging over into the water/off the cliff, and fish like that. I already fish for stupid amounts of time, so letting me rest my legs would be a dream. This will be especially true when, in 2.0, I can have my chocobo Kwefka chillin' next to me while I fish.

Make it happen SE. Let us sit and fish. Please?
