Question regarding housing lottery

My Girlfriend has a house= in Empyrean Fields? and wants to bid on a house in a different spot, like Lavender Beds.

Can she do so? Does she have to first demolish her current house? Would she have to then wait a waiting period before bidding on another house if she did demo the current one?

Any help would be appreciated.

If you buy a new plot while already owning a house, it'll demolish the old one automatically and refund some of the cost of the old plot to the cost of the new one. Do not demolish the old one first, or you won't get a refund.

Don't demolish. If she wins a plot elsewhere, the house will simply move there with all furniture in storage. She must have no more than 40 outdoor items + 400 indoor items placed/stored in the house before the relocation or else the game will not allow her to relocate. If she currently has a small cottage, 40/400 is the maximum anyways so she won't have to remove any furniture.

Depends on how much is in the storage and already placed. I've had situations come up where there's not enough storage space (from dumping random furniture there over time) and I've had to clean it out before being able to relocate.

But this isn't a problem for Small's, because their item limit is 200 placed, 200 in storage. (And likewise 20/20 for outdoor)
So you're already limited to the 40/400 cap.

In the housing settings you can check there should be do green checks one for outdoor and one for indoor which indicates housing transfer is good to go.

You can transfer a private house to any private house location regardless of district. You cannot transfer a FC house and make it a private and visa versa.

Ohh I forgot about that. Storeroom status can be viewed in any housing district.
