Throne and Liberty Next Gen MMOs

NCSoft is really hit or miss, but there are a lot of ideas that I like in this preview that FFXIV could take a page from.

Especially I like the dynamic weather events that transform the landscapes such as certain low lying areas flooding when it rains, or different mobs spawning from the desert depending on night/day.

The graphics seem really neat as well. I do like the tab target combat that FFXIV has, so I'm not suggesting anything as radical as changing the way the game plays, this is more to point out the sort of ambiance and overworld elements that if implemented could make FFXIV an insane experience if combined with its strong story and its attention to detail.

Either way, evolution in the MMO genre is something I like to see and well this one did impress me. The only problem is I see NCSOFT as a pay to win company and that ruins it for me. So perhaps it's a take a look and hopefully get inspired by the good and leave the bad stuff out.

I will point out that these people did take a page out of XIV, they change their jobs with their weapons. So perhaps mutual learning will make them both great games.

No, it does not mean that's all we need to know, there's no need to be racist and the important thing is to look at elements that other people are working on and see if any may bring improvement.

How did you get racism out of their post? Korean MMOs tend to be super grindy and pay to win with somewhat ok gameplay hidden beneath all the fat.

Just because something is Korean doesn't mean people should automatically be prejudiced against it is all. Everyone has the capability of surprising and coming up with new things.

I'll freely admit I was wrong then, if Throne and Liberty is not f2p, super grindy with a large amount of, let's call it 'pay for convenience' to be generous. I wasn't meaning to be racist at all, I meant exactly what the other poster said.

Then you don't have much experience with Korean mmos, especially ones from ncsoft.
