TBH I just made this post so you can understand my woes:

Healer claimed I was killing them by playing Peloton while walking by crabs. MFW: The walk speed increase doesn't increase aggro. Neither does sprint.

Peloton near an elemental will pull hate on me though. o/

Yeah, I always speed-walk past crabs and dragons and it has never been a problem for me. If you lag however, it aggros them, something about where you are before and after during lag makes the game think you ran. Maybe they were lagging and didn't know, so they blamed you :/

Yeah in never had a problem using Peloton. I use it every time I have clearance from mobs. That large room full of walking on only mobs is annoying as I didn't know all of them were sensitive to sounds.

Yeah speed doesn't change how they aggro. You could be moving at light speed but if you're set to walk they still won't aggro.

Whether they were right or not, if you kept doing something they asked you not to do, that (they believed) was causing enemies to attack the party, then from their perspective it would seem like trolling.

And if you need to walk slowly past enemies to avoid them, then it does seem logical that a "move faster" spell could be the difference between passing safely and drawing their attention. Particularly with the "evidence" that they do get attacked.

The information might be incorrect, but it doesn't sound entirely unreasonable in those circumstances.

it's not about walking slowly past them. It's just having "walk" toggled on that they care about
peloton, sprint, mount, hide, etc etc they don't care at all as long as walk is toggled

this is also previous knowledge from pagos since the same mechanic existed there too

also, there's constantly a giant flood of people going back and forth in there. Should be obvious to anyone that has their eyes open

I told them in party chat that it doesn't cause aggro to them and they should also try sprinting too while walking. They asked me to "stop" so yes I didn't listen after I explained it doesn't aggro them and they got frustrated and kicked me.

My job as a bard is to support my PT, whether it be singing songs or helping them walk to a fate a little bit faster. Honestly, it was a stupid situation. I get where you're coming from that she's PT lead and "her rules." But come on - I explained it and then she kicked me before even trying it themselves is pretty ignorant.

Actually Peloton does cause aggro, but you have to be in combat first for it to do so. You just can't pull a mob with it. I know this because I've ran a dungeon where the tank would walk into a mob, not hit it, I use Peloton on the party and got aggro. Even tested it on regular mobs and pulled aggro. As for the Elementals, if I understand correctly, they aggro off of casting and I guess Peloton is considered a cast.

this is super super late but that's incorrect sir. peloton doesn't generate aggro, but it does end once you've entered a fight. on an additional note what enemies were you triggering aggro with? if they have the hostile symbol they likely did it because they simply saw you (provided you were a similar level) also i think they got aggro because your tank went into their range. as for elementals im not sure O-O
