I've had enough of this Armor Silhouette!

You all know what I'm talking about. It's the TENT-SHAPED, A-LINE, Silhouette!



The ENTIRE HW, SB, ShB, EW, quest rewards, dungeon drops, token rewards, PVP rewards, Store items, crafted items, EVERYTHING, like 80-90%+, are in this SILHOUETTE, doesn't matter if it's fending, striking, healing - everything comes in this shape. Like why?

I'm not saying it's ugly. Actually some of them are very beautifully designed. And some do fit the theme of certain areas, and many characters do glam this very creatively.
But honestly, we've had a lot of this shape already. Truly a lot, alot. And I'm just craving other variety of silhouettes. You have a very talented and creative designer team, please, I'm not saying to get rid of this, but can we be inspired with other types of shapes for 7.0?

We truly need more variety, especially if you are melee or tanks, sometimes we just want other stuff rather than fighting in combat with a METAL CLUNKY TENT wrapped around your legs. I know, I know, we have more ridiculous glamours, but I'm talking about the more realistic armor designs here. And for sure casters are craving for other shapes too.

What do you guys think?

SE, be honest please - are you really an absolute fan of this style? Are you truly still inspired by this shape after 10 years? If you still are, I get it. I'm not here to impose anything, but hope you understand we have too much already.

Surely even EORZEA's Fashion Industry evolves? Or is it still stuck in in 2012? Are we still blaming the calamity after all these years??

Yes please.
As a Hrothgar, I feel like 90% of tops and bottoms are literally tents.
The bottoms have to cover so much, and the tops have to flare out to sit over the bottoms.
So I struggle to find all the 'fitted pants' and 'tops without attached skirts' options instead.

Especially a recolor of the caster gear but worse. They add a cool caster armor but then they remove some details from it when they use the same model for healers.

They had a great looking Nun healer gear in Rinsciata. . . but then gave it to DPS Casters

Tbh the very last thing we need are more nun robes. If anything, I'm still salty they gave the most RDM looking set to the SAM, because Twelve forbid a caster not wearing a dress.

One of the things I wish we had, at least, were more skirts separated from the tops. I feel it would make them a bit more versatile.

The ShB Black Mage artifact set on male characters... I love the top, hate the skirt. And the actual leg item that we get to go under those is usually an afterthought, wouldn't be really missed.

More on topic, I agree. I personally like butt capes, but many times they have no business being part of the chest slot, specially if they're visually disconnected from it (Paglth'an sets, for example), and we already have a handful of items that are the skirt alone so it can be done, they just chose not to, for whatever reason.

More on topic, I agree. The butt capes (which I am very sick of and would love to just rip right off the sky pirate caster set) do have a technical reason for being attached to the top and no the bottoms if I remember correctly. It has something to do with how the models fall, things that are attacked to the leg slot have to cling to the model fairly closely so they do not clip with the top at any point, which might not be so bad but I have a feeling when a character starts running or walking it would look rather strange. If attached to the top though they are given a much wider radius to billow out and move while running and look more natural.

Yeah the A lines started to bother me too. I liked the new lunar tank bottoms but they should have been for healers not tanks.
