Seriously though, I agree variety in gear design is never a bad thing - ironically for tank, especially PLD, glamour, I prefer armour where the body curiass/breastplate are seperate, thus allowing greater creativity in glamour (I admit I have a preference for the Spring Skirt in this regard). Funnily enough, most tank armour pre level 50 was usually a plain breastplate or something similar without an armoured plate/chainmail skirt below it - it was only with later ARR and into HW did they start with the 'armoured trenchcoat/ballgown' look and have stuck with this almost exclusively.

I don't know if this is because the gear designers are different to the 1.0 ones and are designing what they like, but the variety creativity in gear design is starting to stagnate like the last years of Amaurot...

they should fix clipping for good if anything... above barely is relevant.. tails, long hair, certain other types of hair and more to it as it is.

I did notice that. Whenever I’m looking for a separare breastplate, it’s usually an older ARR armors that’s available. I truly wondered who or what made SE dug deep into this Tent shape battle skirt style. I have never really seen this shape before in any other games at all. I think their designers just need more inspiration. I don’t think it’s a resource issue either - just remove the bottom part of the tent, and let the top breastplate separate, then that will let players mix and match even better.

It's very telling that a lot of them comes from different games or from community contests.
The gear design team really needs new ideas.

One of the things I wish we had, at least, were more skirts separated from the tops. I feel it would make them a bit more versatile.

The ShB Black Mage artifact set on male characters... I love the top, hate the skirt. And the actual leg item that we get to go under those is usually an afterthought, wouldn't be really missed.
