    changing music for Wondrous and Warring Lanners

    Just a small suggestion for SE today. It would be awesome to change the mount music for the Wondrous Lanner to what plays for the Warring Lanner right now (aka part 1 of the Seph fight which is the general HW Warring Triad music, name of the music escapes me but you know what I mean ). Then change the Warring Lanner to play what is part 2 of the Seph fight now (aka "Fiend").
    I might be misremembering, but I swear there was a request to change the Warring Lanner music a long time ago and they didn't want to change it because where would the theme music it plays now go. Well, we have a solution. Give the Wondrous Lanner that music (since 2 of the Unreal Fights we've had so far have been from the Warring Triad) and let the Warring Lanner play the Fiend music like we always wanted.

    If they do decide to change the music, at that point they might as well allow us to have our own portable orchestrion to change music wherever and whenever as long we've unlocked them. I find it odd that they're only available in Inn/Houses.

    It's not odd, it's for technical reasons - it's been asked repeatedly in the past and Soken has explained a portable orchestrion is completely impossible due to how the game's music and sound is programmed - (my understanding is it's because the orchestrion uses a secondary sound channel usually devoted to battle music and secondary sound needs, which are not required inside an inn room or personal/FC house. As this sound channel is needed for battle music and special event tracks that need to be cued at a moment's notice, it's not possible to have the orchestrion outside those limited areas without redesigning the game's sound code). So, alas, as much as I would love a portable orchestrion, SE have made it clear it's not going to happen I'm afraid.

    Modders have had access to a personal orchestrion for a long time now.

    Nonsense. This isn't the 90s. They can add another channel if they wanted, They did for performance, and that is much more complicated. I doubt they would have to do that. Mount music replaces zone music, FATE music replaces zone music. They can create another switch.

    modders don't have to worry about breaking the game on the server end.

    and yes just wave your hand and add another channel just like that! if only everything was as simple.

    1 not server side. 2. nobody said anything about waving hand, but discrete channels are not some limited resource the way they use to be, since before this game was in development. It's all client side memory and processing, and we all have systems that can mix well over a hundred channels at this point. They are choosing to think of it that way. 3. You didn't even bother to address the actual issue. There is a music "channel", it is always playing and it is constantly being switched to something else. This idea that they are using the "battle music" channel because it isn't needed is nonsense. There is always music and it switches to different music constantly. It plays town music in the town, it plays battle music in battle, etc, etc.

    If you want you can listen to the area music in a region for a while, get into a fight, and if you pay careful attention, you'll come out of the fight timed RIGHT back in the music at the right place. It's a smooth transiton from area song to fight song and back. This can only happen because of the extra resources being used.

    Sadly CBU3 has kind of worked against themselves in saying things are not possible. They said putting checkmarks on collectible items you have already collected was impossible and yet they were able to do it after enough outcry. I'm not gonna address what 3rd party stuff has managed to do because that's another can of worms. What I am addressing is they have previously said "so-and-so" was impossible but ended up being able to do it anyway, so you'll have forgive me for not believing impossible is as absolute as the word is meant to be when they say it. It might be incredibly difficult but since when is anything not?

    But on to the topic, I always thought it was ridiculous that Seph's ex mount didn't even play his music, just the generic warring triad phase 1 music. Yes I get that technically his was the first of the trial series but they had the other two planned at that point so it seems rather shortsighted to just use what ended up becoming the phase 1 music for the rest of them. Hell, most Ex mounts up to that point in the game even used later music from the fight if there is more than one track in the trial; Titan, Leviathan, Shiva, Ravana, Bismarck, and Thordan did not use the first track played in the fight for their mounts, so why does Seph not get this?
