    Bestiary: The GD discussion thread.

    with this quote it was more or less confirmed that we would eventually be getting a bestiary in the game. What I want to know is what do you guys think the best way to go about it will be?

    Visually and functionally.

    Personally I would love if the bestiary was designed like a tomb that could be accessed via a menue and have drawn art of each species of monster (Perhaps special art for NM's) with a section devoted to lore and a section devoted to numbers (Elemental affinity and whatnot)

    I'd prefer it to be as natural to the world as possible and not cram a bunch of useless information our way such a HP-Level-status icons and whatnot.

    Hopefully we will get a swath of acheivments with the bestiary as well, some with nifty rewards and others that are just for fun. Hopefully the Bestiary will start out empty and fill in as you defeat or encounter monsters throughout the world. I also hope there is a section aside from monsters set inside for lore on each area you visit.

    What do you guys think the Bestiary should look/feel like?

    Lore, how the mob can be incapacitated, what it can possibly drop, etc...

    Would be neat if you could view the model of the mob, rotate it, adjust the zoom, etc too. Maybe even have a menu where you could choose for it to use certain moves, and watch it using them against a target dummy or something.

    I say they allow us to become these beasts we collect in a instanced area so we can control them and get their skill set
    Along with the additional lore and drop info

    obtain 100% knowledge of x monster and receive a trophy to place in your house lol. It does have a lot of potential to be a unique system and they could create multiple ways to "learn" about the monster. One variety could be from beating it x amount of times, another method could be gathering a certain amount of it's drops. Another could be obtaining all the drops in it's loot table(including HQ drops). Another variation of killing x mob but killing them in all the regions they appear in to understand how they adapt to their ecosystem. Definitely a lot of interesting ways they can go about the system it'll definitely be interesting to see how they go about it.

    also make the bestiary viewable on phones/ipod/ipad/internet as well so u can view it while on game as well I would like that also possible drops; incaps; and lore and affinity all would be great info
