The funniest thing about the difficulty to me is this game's MSQ solo duties are such a waste of time and meaningless fluff only meant to pretend there is real gameplay happening that for most duties you're grouped with NPCs since ShB you can Luigi your way through them and clear without doing absolutely anything.
And that's on Normal difficulty. Makes you wonder why "easy" and "very easy" exist.
Don't believe me? Try it yourself. The circular arena MSQ solo duties don't need your input unless they include a mechanic the NPCs won't interact with, which is very rare.
One example is An Unforeseen Bargain. During the 2nd fight you can go Luigi all the way to the last wipe mechanic, then you help Zero since the Scions won't. And that's all you're required to do.

I still to this day do not understand why Thordan's Ultimate End does not really do anything. lol
No it doesn't and nothing good can come out of it. Just let casual story players enjoy their story in the story-driven game without having to worry about not being able to complete that content.
If they want to get into harder difficulty content, they'll do that of their own accord, not be forced into it.
Most AA and AAA games are story driven. They're still challenging the average player more than XIV's MSQ does.No it doesn't and nothing good can come out of it. Level 100 boss should not feel like a level 50 boss. Thankfully they made some changes in Dawntrail regarding difficulty. Now people can feel good about themselves when they accomplish things. Player progression is very much a MMO vibe.No it doesn't and nothing good can come out of it. Being able to do the dance for a single fight that you spend countless hours on until you can do it in your sleep doesn't mean those players are anything close to good in normal content. I often see Legend titles fall into the hole or die to the AoEs around the hole on the final boss of the latest MSQ dungeon. Or don't get close enough to the wall on the second boss. They also tend to greed a *lot* more and end up making stupid mistakes. And that's perfectly okay, because people who can clear Savage aren't some sort of god gamer that never messes up. We all mess up. Wipes sometimes happen. We pick ourselves up and try again.
