Making the game harder isn't going to magically make people better, it's just going to lose players who don't want to (or cannot) put that effort in. If your goal is to up the "average" then I guess whatever.. but if you're a game company that relies on player retention, then you're probably not going to want to cut player base just to make it so some players don't have slightly slower runs.

There is currently no effort they need to put in, lmao. No one is going to quit over the difficulty dial going up a couple notches above 0.

With the exceptions of Bismarck and Thordon, every MSQ trial since HW requires you to put in effort, it's easy to die in them.

EDIT: Several of which have had people asking them to be nerfed at launch, including both Nidhogg and Shinryu.

I still to this day do not understand why Thordan's Ultimate End does not really do anything. lol

People say this kind of thing.. but then we get challenges like endwalkers"you got stuck in a soldiers body" quest and the demands for a difficulty choice are made so emphatically that the devs put one in for EVERYTHING.

Not everyone finds the things you think are 0 to be easy. Not everyone is you or your friends. Go ahead and feel superior if that's what keeps you going, but don't pretend they don't exist or that it's not some peoples experience.

Echo buffs are there for a reason.

    Gatta keep em Seperated

I think valid points are with difficulty but even the difficult content people have been caught using tools to make it "easier". No matter what they do or change people will say it's too easy for everyone or too difficult (See Heavensward raid scene). I think the levels of normal, extreme, savage, ultimate is great because it forces you to get better either at your job or mechanics. Let players choose their comfort zone is my vote. Let the casual players that enjoy the story enjoy the story. And let the hard core raiders get through the "easy content" to enjoy their pace.

No. I like chilling in the easy content so I can get gear and see the story.

    Complete hyperbole.

Going from your character to a literal grunt is a difficulty crater, not a gradual increase.

The funniest thing about the difficulty to me is this game's MSQ solo duties are such a waste of time and meaningless fluff only meant to pretend there is real gameplay happening that for most duties you're grouped with NPCs since ShB you can Luigi your way through them and clear without doing absolutely anything.

And that's on Normal difficulty. Makes you wonder why "easy" and "very easy" exist.

Don't believe me? Try it yourself. The circular arena MSQ solo duties don't need your input unless they include a mechanic the NPCs won't interact with, which is very rare.
One example is An Unforeseen Bargain. During the 2nd fight you can go Luigi all the way to the last wipe mechanic, then you help Zero since the Scions won't. And that's all you're required to do.

    Yep, this is true.

I think SE should work on ways to help players improve, though. No one should need an external website or discord channel to learn how to play their Job correctly.
