From what I remember, his explanation involved saying that running away from a mob is as unfair because the mob cannot hit you.

Fact is, with our current engine and it's crappy positioning code, you STILL get hit by "melee" attacks while you're yalms away from the mob. In principle, I'm not against the interruption itself, I'm only against them implementing it now, on this engine. I don't know how The Engine will handle this implementation, I do hope it will have better position sync and less latency.

Ragnarok online took it even further, with default situation being:

- you can't move after starting to cast
- you can't cancel casting

You could then decide to level Cast Cancel and Freecast which allowed you to cancel casting and move, with movement speed depending on ability level.

FFXIV doesn't give us options/skill trees though, so maybe something like you don't cancel spells if you move, but you can only walk while casting, not run.
