    Yoshi gave a thorough explenation as to why it is also implemented in PvE. It works great right now, i don't see the problem. You do big damage, you have to stay stationary.

    The only time moving while casting is somewhat vital is maybe in primals, but we can get passed that with different set ups. The rest of the time, you are usually away from the enemies standing in one spot.

    The problem is how enfeebles work, along with movement cancel. When do you ever not see a caster use the bind,nuke, sleep nuke strategy to solo? Maybe gravity nuke as well. There is alos kiting, this game doesn't allow you to do any of that if you wanted to be a solo caster.

    Personally I don't care for solo play. I just think not being able to cast and walk (not run) is stupid. Atleast making us go from running to walking instead of being in the same spot would make sense. You need to make sure you don't trip while trying to cast a spell. Walking you can't make that mistake as bad as running. This equals to immersion that alot of people want in the game.

    I can talk on my cellphone while playing monster hunter with a brokenish directional pad and still see where I am going. What the hell is so god damn difficult about walking and saying "Fira?" and concentrating?

    You can't compare real life to a game. It doesn't work like that. The people make this game see casting as a motionless action.

    From what I remember, his explanation involved saying that running away from a mob is as unfair because the mob cannot hit you.

    Fact is, with our current engine and it's crappy positioning code, you STILL get hit by "melee" attacks while you're yalms away from the mob. In principle, I'm not against the interruption itself, I'm only against them implementing it now, on this engine. I don't know how The Engine will handle this implementation, I do hope it will have better position sync and less latency.

    Ragnarok online took it even further, with default situation being:

    - you can't move after starting to cast
    - you can't cancel casting

    You could then decide to level Cast Cancel and Freecast which allowed you to cancel casting and move, with movement speed depending on ability level.

    FFXIV doesn't give us options/skill trees though, so maybe something like you don't cancel spells if you move, but you can only walk while casting, not run.
