In Windows 11, click Search, then type "Mobility" and click on Windows Mobility Center app, in it check the Power Plan setting, is it on Power saving or Balanced, try it on High Performance and test, if it was, try Balanced and test.

If it still happens, leave it on High Performance.

Open Nvidia Control Panel, can search it or click on the /\ icon in desktop task bar where the time is displayed.
Once open, click the Manage 3D link, then the "Program Settings" tab.
Next select FFXIV in the programs list, should be two listed, one is Directx9, the other Directx11 version, if none show, click Add, browse to the FFXIV folder, in that, open Game folder, select ffxiv_d11.exe and add it, if you use dx9 select the ffxiv.exe etc.

Once added to the list, make sure where it says "2. Select the preferred graphics processor for this program", it has your RTX 3070 selected, (Might say "High Performance Nvidia GPU" select this option if it does!) if it doesn't, select it from drop down box, next in the same window scroll down through the list of options and look for "Power Management Mode" and set it to "Prefer Maximum Performance", it will probably be on "Optimal power" which is not good, maybe your issue.
    Test in game.

In game also double check the game is using the 3070 and not the CPU graphics, Menu > System Configuration > Display > Here check it says "DISPLAY~1 RTX 3070", if it doesn't and its using INTEL IRIS or UHD, you need to go back in to the Nvidia Control Panel app and 3D > click blue link "Windows Graphics Settings", in the OS window it opens, scroll down list, look for FFXIV, click it and change the Graphics processor to High Performance 3070 and save, if its not listed, click "Browse", find the FFXIV folder, game > ffxiv_dx11.exe, add it and then do as I mentioned above to add the 3070.

Just make sure 100% that in the game under Display its got your 3070 as the display device.

If none of that helps, in Nvidia Geforce Experience app, click little cog top right, find in this menu "Battery boost" and turn it off completely, should do this anyway, can cause issues.

You can try this if none of that helps:
In game under the Display tab, make sure to use "FULLSCREEN" mode and if need used 1920x1080 (60Hz), scroll down and also set Frame limit to 60.
If you have higher resolution, try at 60Hz from resolution selection and test.

I really wouldn't recommend using over 60 frames per second options, also would never use Windowed or Borderless Window mode.

    Alienware, huh...

    When connected to the charger:
while holding the function key (FN, bottom left of keyboard), press F1 (top left of the keyboard) along with it.

    Otherwise, have a look here:
    https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/e...er-quick-guide
    section "Alien Fusion"

Alienware machines apparently ship with software controls for power and performance.
