I think all Crystal worlds are currently classified as congested now, at least the ones I’ve visited lately. It announces it in the chat when you server travel now! lol Bryn has 246 plots left and most have over 10 bids apiece. I’ve only been here since Stormblood, so I don’t know what it was like before. But Bryn was a preferred world when I started because it was underpopulated then. The new servers will gradually fill in too. Some by existing players taking the free transfer, but probably mostly by new players joining the game. Just telling people to transfer isn’t solving the underlying problem: that the ward system, on it’s own, is never going to fulfill the needs and wants of the players. The whole idea behind housing was supposed to be fostering a sense of community… but those that haven’t been lucky enough to win a lotto are constantly being told to pack up and leave the community they’ve built up if they want to get a house. There needs to be a better solution than that.

Balmung and Mateus (18 bids on lowest) have literally hundreds of players who have never owned a house who cannot get one. And anyone saying move to Dynamis should try themselves. The queues are awful, the economy is terrible outside of Seraph, and everyone just ends up DC traveling back to Aether or Crystal anyway. I see more Dynamis people on Balmung sometimes than actual native residents.

It literally takes 30s ~ 1min to DCT.

I pay that price with a huge smile if it means getting the best two plots in the entire game with close to no competition like I did.

If you think queues on Dynamis (?) are awful, you're in for a fantastic time on Crystal come 7.0 - and by fantastic time, I mean "multi-hour queues for weeks on end" are going to be making a return.

It's not going to be desolate forever.. but by the time you realize that's changing, the houses won't be nearly so available.

I've been playing more on Dynamis than I have on Crystal lately.

Queues are not terrible for the majority of roulettes. Level 90 content can be iffy outside of prime time but that's slowly improving as those who transferred low level characters or created new ones are now completing the 6.0 MSQ.

The economy is just fine. I passed half the gil I had on this character to the characters I was transferring and made enough on Dynamis to repay it already plus more.

Not everyone is data center traveling to Aether and Primal for content, and I'm frequently seeing Travelers in the open world and in roulettes on Dynamis.

To say you're seeing more Dynamis characters on Balmung than Balmung characters is totally laughable.

On the other hand, that you are seeing players from Dynamis on Balmung shows that moving to Dynamis to get a house then using data center travel to play with friends works.

It's your choice in the end. Continue to go without a house and annoy your friends with your constant complaints, or get your house while continuing to enjoy the rest of the game with your friends.

You might want to point out to Sourcy that you're referring to a different type of queue than they are talking about.

I remember chatting with Balmung friends in Discord at Endwalker release. My log in queues on Coeurl were rarely more than 10-15 minutes while they'd be stuck in 4-6 hours queues. Unless more players are willing to transfer off Balmung (and Crystal in general) to Dynamis, it's going to be just as bad if not worse for 7.0.

Personally, I'm in a good spot. As much as I'd rather do MSQ on this character first when 7.0 releases, if log in queues are bad I have no problems playing through on one of my Marilith characters first. And I'd be able to invite my Coeurl FC to travel to play with me on Marilith as well so they can avoid their queues. We chat in Discord as much as we chat in game so the lack of FC chat wouldn't be a problem.

I did move from Aether to Dynamis on my NA character, so? I get an easy house, and I get a pretty active server, sure not like Balmung, but its still active. It's viable. And if its late night or early morning, DC travel is a thing for content.

Exactly.

I'll admit to being one of the big skeptics that data center travel would work well and make it worth transferring to a new world for the sake of getting a house. Perhaps Catstarwind will go necro some of my old posts that expressed that skepticism.

I'm also happy to admit that now it's in practice, I was wrong about what it would be like. I still wouldn't recommend to transferring a different region since we're still effectively region locked but there's no need for anyone to have to do that now with Dynamis and the new EU worlds, and more on the way.
