We should get a retainer from each city-state that can only be used there for the market. Maybe that would motivate people to start using the other markets and ease uldah congestion.

Im not against an AH, I just hope they do something unique and that works with the retainer system. So far what we have works but isnt perfect. maybe make the identification system of the retainer different in a way that could allow us to recognise certain crafters retainers easier so we know where to go first if we need something specific. so much potential I hope they dont give up on the current market system.

I thought at first that i could live with the current system but its to the point where i cant even sell anything because when i try to send my retainer our i get this sad message "Retainer has returned. The designated area was full." how can you possibly support new players when the small amount we have right now cant even do something as simple as sell stuff.

Stop being greedy and you will sell. I like the current system. At least it open spots for ppl that want to sell stuff at decent prices.

I always check other cities before hitting Ul'dah's, just to encourage those who are selling there to keep doing so.

Now even with the secondary homepoint, you are capable of setting your retainer in any of the other cities with ease and travel back and forth if Uldah is full. And I encourage you, like many before me already said, to use Gridania and Limsa, because the same FF community that helped eachother by setting up a code for HQs (10,001 gil) when devs didn't realize it yet, will get your things sold. More people use other cities' wards with no problem at all every day, and until things are getting fixed for 2.0, things are getting easier for all thanks to the community.
