For quite a while, there have been some ideas that I really wanted to share with others, and here I'm finally succumbing to that desire to write a list of things I'd like to change and see in-game.
Character Creation
- More customization options for all races/genders such as
Scaless au'raor slightly scaled, Bigger beards for hyurs, different miqo'te ears, and so on.- Separation of body parts (Such as Au'ra horns and scales, Miqo'te and Hroth ears and tails, and Viera ears from body and face options) from the body and face options.
- A third clan? (Far-Eastern Reogadyn is an in-game example of such)
- Adding the Rogue class to the list of classes you can begin with. As someone who leveled up a rogue as my first job. The fact it wasn't there in the list of classes was both annoying and pointless
- This is related to the Character screen, but I think it may be cool to have different backgrounds (Just like the backgrounds options we have in character creation)
The Elezen Barber
- In the spirit of the previous category, I think it would be really great to allow players to change every customization options about their character free of real-monetary charge. Of course changing race/gender will still require the addiction liquid.
Gameplay aspects
- An overhaul to the Market board where players can buy the quantity they want instead of what's listed. In addition to adding a search history, and improving the search function so it recommends similar items to the name written instead of one typo or wrong letter causing nothing to show up. In short, just give us a better market board like the other MMOs!.
- All the aetherytes in the expansions major cities should allow players to change the world within the same DC rather than having to go back to the ARR main cities. This should be a convenience QoL for players who would like to establish the expansions cities as their main hub (Especially with two of those cities having housing districts)
- It isn't a major problem to a lot of players, but it would be cool to add a teleportation option from the aetherytes that can be found in the world which offers the benefit of teleportation's costs discount. (Similar to ESO Wayshrines system)
- Ability to queue for multiple roulettes instead of just one because why not?
- Multiple Limitbreak options provided to the players. For example, a tank can perform a single-target dps LB, or a healer can perform a tank LB, and so on. Not a big deal, but I believe it's nice to have.
- A proper, fully-functional, and bug-free adventurer plate and portraits system because in every patch it's getting downgraded rather than the opposite.
- Similar to the PvP series system, I think it would be cool to have our own PvE series system that you can rank up via doing PvE activities such as roulette, participating in hunts, killing a boss in Eureka, or completing a FATE in the open world and so on.
- PvP combos in PvE
- In-game leaderboards in addition to other varieties of leaderboards such as achievement points
- In-game community finder like the other MMOs rather than being on a website.
- Merging the Squadron system, Trust, and Duty support into one big system that also provides upgrades to the players who frequently do them. For example, going multiple times to a dungeon with Y'sthola as a Trust should upgrade her power to be more decent. (Basically, Trust and duty support with Squadron system)
- In-game calendar
- Inspired by WoW, I think it would be really cool if we had our own micro-holidays that are rewardless and events that happen once or twice a year for a single day or a couple of days.
- Integrating Baldesion Arsenal, CLL, DR, and Dalriada into the duty finder with their own respective roulette to help players who are doing these contents but keeping them as they're in terms of balance or gameplay. (Maybe leave BA behind since it's quite difficult and different from the rest.)
- Portable orchestrion so you can listen to your favorite in-game soundtrack anywhere. Say goodnight to Spotify and Youtube!
Allow players to see Treasure hunt and FATEs parties in the party finder without needing to be in the same world. Let me check if any is active and around from my world instead of hopping 6-7 times to check.As of Patch 7.1, this has become an official QoL in-game.- Reduce the blacklist capacity from 200 down to 30 or 50 because of players abusing the feature to filter out some players (Mostly first-timers or inexperienced players doing their second or third clear) from the party finder. I don't believe someone really needs to blacklist a lot of players. However, I believe the Support should be more extreme and responsive towards malicious harassment (and even stalking activities) to protect the players.
More achievement certificate rewards because why not? Let me use my 150+ achievement certificate instead of it just sitting around.As of Patch 7.1, we received multiple new rewards.- More asymmetric boss arenas instead of the usual circle or square arenas with death-zone edges. An example of such an arena that already exists is Aglaia's second boss arena.
- ARR, HW, and SB FATEs should reward bicolor gemstones based on the level to encourage players to do those FATEs outside of the relic farm. For example, ARR lv1-15 FATEs should reward 2 or 3 bicolor gemstones that new players can use to buy gear and anything else while leveling. Make them feel more rewarded for doing those FATEs than just a bit of xp and Gil.
Glamour
- The heavily requested, WoW's Transmog system instead of the glamour system we currently have. No need to worry about the dresser limits. Every gear you get and keeps get added to your account.
- The ability to glam to any item regardless of race/job so healers can finally wear something that's not a white dress.
Gold sauce
- GATEs open every 10 minutes instead of 20 minutes. Why should I wait for 15-20 minutes after Yojimbo bamboo bonked me away? Let me enjoy the Gold saucer instead of waiting for half or most of my stay there.
- Alternatively to the suggestion above, we can have a semi-randomized schedule of multiple GATEs which open for 15-20 with the ability for players to do them repeatedly. Then the rotation changes to a different set of GATEs for the next 15-20 minutes and so on. This should offer to the players more variety, replayability value, and overall more enjoyment from the Gold saucer. For Yojimbo and Typhoon GATEs, we can one per a schedule that's open every 5 minutes. Really, just let players enjoy the game.
- Inspired by amusement park events irl. The Make it Rain event should open all GATEs at the same time. During this event, Yojimbo and Typhoon GATEs open 2-3 minutes after the last time, while leap of faith maps could rotate every 5 minutes. Just allow me to have endless fun repeating those GATEs again and again.
- Yet another system inspired by WoW and frequently requested by... Me! This time, it's the trial of style. A Duty with a certain number of players that can participate in and revolves around glamming yourself to a certain theme, similar to Fashion report but it differs in that you'll get rated by players.
Housing
- An ability to upgrade the plot size (Whether small to Large or the other way around) so people don't lose their minds if they didn't get the size they wanted.
- An ability to add a balcony to houses and even apartments (I can imagine it could be difficult in the apartment case but if it's possible then why not?)
Jobs
- A rework to DRK to make it more faithful to the original concept where it sacrifices HP constantly and also drains the enemy of HP (WAR healing capabilities should have been DRK healing capabilities in my opinion)
- SCH fairies (Eos and Selene) should get more love and have different benefits again rather than being different skins.
- Inspired by FF5, a Brand-new limited Job called "Freelancer" that focuses on building the job you want and however you want it using any weapon, skill, and traits that already exist in different jobs. For example, you could be a DRK that uses black magic, or a PLD healer, a Ninja tank, and so on. Basically, build a job mini-game.
- Job stone requirement for any duty above level 30. No more trolls or players reaching lv50+ without a job stone. Of course, people can still queue without job stones with unrestricted party in case they seek to do a challenge.
PvP
- Frontlines Team rewards should be based on team performance, which is measured by the points (and maybe even add other factors too). For example, Currently, a team that scored 400/1600 points while others who scored above 1000+ will get the 3rd place reward. Meanwhile, in another match, a team who scored 1400/1600 while others scored more will also get the same 3rd place reward which I believe is very unfair and that the team who scored 1400/1600 should get way much better rewards than the 400/1600 team.
- A base reward for doing the frontline roulette instead of no reward at all. A slight incentive to do frontlines more than once a day if someone feels like it (Just like how you can earn adventurer in need reward from doing PvE roulettes)
The Forum
- An overhaul of the official forum. While the current one is good it's just... ahh... outdated.
I wish I could get YoshiP reading this. I'm aware probably half, if not the majority of the requests i'd like seeing in-game won't happen, but nonetheless it's good to hope that it may happen. Especially the Marketboard. Please give us an overhaul to the Marketboard. We have the worst Auction house, Trading post, and whatever else it may be called.
