Liana you're wasting your time with him. He's so stuck in his delusions, assumptions, and ignorance that he's resorted to strawman arguments, ad hominem attacks, and outright open hostility in the other dumpster fire thread.PSA: Plugins and mods aren't the same thing. If you're going to call a community toxic, at least insult the correct one. The toxicity stems from the plugin community, the modding side minds their own business unless someone does something dumb like plaster it on a billboard.
Side note, modders do pay for fantasia and in game cosmetics. There's isn't a plugin available that permanently changes the appearance of your character (it changes on teleport/instance swap) and you still need the base items to even have certain mods display at all. You should probably know what you're talking about if you plan to go on a crusade against them. The modding (and by association the roleplay) community carries the fantasia sales on their backs.
How is it a delusion if it is happening? People can mod their appearance to be whatever they want clientside. If they don't care about what other people think, then it doesn't matter to them. Why would they ever buy a fantasia when they can just mod their appearance however they want?

You greatly underestimate the power of vanity. I'm sure there are a handful of people out there that only care what they themselves see, but the vast majority absolutely want to make sure to rub their 293020253rd set of thot glam and character trait choices in people's faces as they prance around the Limsa aetheryte plaza. How is it a delusion if it is happening? Hmm...
A few thoughts:
1.) Third-party tools and mods used by players cannot receive any kind of data from other players, save what the client makes available naturally. You are at no point at risk of any sort of compromise in this regard. Even ACT can't pull the kind of data you seem to be thinking of.
2.) The hell is a Fantasia mod? You can't force the game to give you items. There are third-party tools for temporarily adjusting your character's appearance, but that's entirely client-side - no one else is able to see it.He just said "People can mod their appearance to be whatever they want clientside." so he likely knows there's no server interference going around. So why are you guys saying this?PSA: Plugins and mods aren't the same thing. If you're going to call a community toxic, at least insult the correct one. The answer's blessedly simpler, Absimiliard: Fantasia Addicts. You greatly underestimate the power of vanity.
