All this conversation is doing is reminding me of the fact mmos and consoles don't mix or atleast can't be cross platform cause WHEEEW
If the company was losing money due to 3rd party tools/mods you better believe they would clean that mess up pretty quickly.
I find it funny how all the players get their panties in a bunch when SE actively does something against the parsers and mods, as if a world is collapsing.
I celebrate everyone who is punished by SE by using ACT, custom launcher or iwelche mods. It's just not wanted by the DEVELOPER and as a player who only "rent" FF14 to play it, maybe you should start respecting what the DEVELOPER says.
They lose trillions every second.
"Stand in the ashes of a trillion dead souls and ask the ghosts if honor matters."
"The silence is your answer."
The issue is Modding is too entrenched for SE to do anything about without a huge community backlash and a financial hit, plus if they need to block third-party tools they would need to add an invasive anti chat would cause even more of a backlash.
Plus something that isn't talked about is that it isn't little jimmy still going through Hevensward that uses 3rd party tools. it's going to be a lot of your endgame players who have been here for years and keep their sub rolling month to month and I don't think SE would want to lose a good chunk of their core community over modding.
3rd party fix what SE cannot fix in time. I wish them best of luck. Maybe one day they understand.
