The issue is more cheats and bots that are the problem. Most things are just cosmetics or making designing houses easier and have no effect on revenue (in fact it might even increase it slightly as some RPers only stay subbed because of the modding community). Bots on the other hand cost the company money as they use stolen accounts or fraudulent credit cards.

Instead of trying to find where to draw the line, it's easier for them to say all third party programs that use or manipulates the game's data is against the ToS.

The only mods i will ever have an issue with are the rampant ERP/Sex/body Mods that people use.

Every social media site is smothered in them, you can't escape from the horny Gposers anywhere.

Is that the first impression people get? I have the the GPOSERS tag followed on twitter and while there certainly are modded screenshots, the number of NSFW posts is pretty small. And that necessitates you already knowing about that tag which you most certainly will not if you dont know anything about the game.

Not to mention pretty much every single one of the ERP Twitter or Instagram have them flagged as NSFW and/or 18+. So if you block that you'll never see them.

When I first started playing this game I knew nothing of 3rd party tool for 2 years. No one is going around telling sprouts to use 3rd party tools. Only when I got interested in clearing savage did the term ever to get to me. Erp and 3rd party tools are not the first impression people get when starting out FFXIV.
