Posting in a skiros thread
Nope. Still at 4 months.3.5-months...-4-months...-4.5-months...-5-months...
OP needs to touch some grass lol.
Also I usually dont spend time on these forums, what is a "skiros thread" <--- im guessing it refers to the OP's name but I'm out of the loop
Within a dream there DARKNESS!
I’m fine if they are redirecting it towards FFXIV itself, even to contents that I don’t really play. So for example if they’re focusing on Ultimates or PvP or Island Sanctuary. But are they doing that?I remember when Dungeons dropped from 3 to 2 per patch.
And then 2 on even patches, and 1 on odd patches.
And then just 1 per patch.
Meanwhile, the amount of "dungeon-like" content, has... er... not really increased in proportion.
I also remember when new Jobs actually had their old weapon-skin styles filled out, for the sake of providing a complete product to the player.
And when we were somehow able to have both an Exploratory Zone series, and a Deep Dungeon, in the same expansion.
And when new Legatuses actually got custom armors made for them, rather than just throwing together some Bozja gear.
And...
...yeah, FFXIV keeps slowly cutting more and more corners. Or at least, redirecting its resources into more and more places that I don't notice, and I am not interested in.
I'm still pretty happy with the quality of what does get produced (give-or-take an example, depending)... but I do feel like the game inexplicably begins to cut more and more corners, and go budget-mode on more and more resource allocations, even as it ostensibly gains a larger team, larger playerbase, and higher income.
I think even those contents are not really getting updates either.
So where are the resources going? Is it *gasp* going to another game?
If so, it will come back to bite them, as their loyal playerbase won’t wait around forever.
I also was very disappointed, that the 'new Gold Saucer content' they announced a year ago for 6.3, is just a another jumping puzzle. That's nice, but not really 'new' content. It's another version of already existing content.
For me it feels like that it gets less and less. And it seems like that 7.0 is going to be very late, too. The 2-year cycle would be in December 2023. But the Japanese Fan Festival is in January 2024. I don't think that they release 7.0 before they had the Fan Festival in their own country.
For new players, there is really a lot to do. But for the people who play it for a while it gets more and more boring. There is nothing to do. And not everyone wants to farm something time-consuming just because there is a lack of new content.
FF14 is their moneymaker. I really wonder why SE treats it so bad in the last time. As someone said before: Playerbase won't wait forever. <ò.ó>
Well covid pushed 5.3 back and everything followed suit there onwards...endwalker was pushed 2 weeks...but then you have to put the weeks on top for the new content patch cycle being 2 weeks longer each time and then an additional if landing on a holiday...so it makes sense it would fall around Feb/March for 7.0 I have no issue with this as it fits in line with what they discussed back in Feb 2022. There are lots of things to do but granted like you say are time sinks for things you may not like the look of like hunts or fishing etc....I am not saying the game doesn't need more stuff it does but I think a lot of resources has gone to making the game on a foundational level better. The new player experience changes from 5.3 to 6.3 is drastic to say the least, removed trials and made solo duties, reworked prae and castrum, shortened ARR, flying in ARR, reworked crafting and gathering and collectible functions, lots of QoL on a systematic level... to just name a few things.I also was very disappointed, that the 'new Gold Saucer content' they announced a year ago for 6.3, is just a another jumping puzzle. That's nice, but not really 'new' content. It's another version of already existing content.

In regards to the gold saucer I am sure they are doing more there I don't think the jumping puzzle was the 'new' thing because its actually expected content each year that they add a new gate etc. It is their money maker but what you have to also take into account they are spending money elsewhere...data centers...world servers...visual upgrade overhaul...that's without stuff being announced this year. This isn't copium there is a lot I would like changed, added and expanded but it is ignorant when people don't take in the wider picture.
They're a known troll who keeps on getting banned only to come back and spam post threads that either go from weak bait to well their there's too much soy cucks in this playerbase threads. Only to get banned again where some other trolls felt the power vacuum or whatever and fight others for trolls supremacy. With occasional up ticks in Firemage posts.
It was a simple question lol. I guess you don't have an answer for it though.
I didn't even mention WoW. It was a genuine question.
The last major mmo I played was GW2, and it's content patches when I played were sporadic and empty, mostly seasonal event stuff.
