    Summoner questions....confused

Ok first off....new to summoner, secondly i boosted him to 80 and yes i know...probably not the wisest of ideas but well here i am. Have a few questions if some folks to clue me in.

    1. Figured it go take this from my guildleader lady...*Austerities of Flame* sadly..she wont talk to me or offer it.

    2. What am i doing wrong? i cant seem to get my more important spells unless i do these quests yet she wont offer them. Do i need to grind thru the story quests till the equivilant of level 30 in regard to the story is reached?

Using a job boost has automatically completed all of your job quests and unlocked the related spells. If they are not on your hotbar, you will need to add them through the Actions & Traits menu.

You will not ve able to use high-level skills in low-level dungeons, if that's what you're trying to do and getting stuck on.

Did you happen to equip the smn stone? Does it say ACN or SMN next to your exp?
If you press "P" (or if you are from console go to character -> Actions & Traits) do you see the smn spells?
Also from 35 (if I remember correctly) the smn quests are no longer in Limsa but are moved

So as has been answered already, using the boost item automatically completes job and class related quests. Austerities of Flame being one of them, it should already be done. You can confirm this by looking in your quest journal, and switching from the "active" to the "completed" tab. If you decide later that you still want to DO the job quests so you can understand the lore better, you can actually use the New Game+ system for this. The NG+ system lets you set a temporary flag in the game that a certain quest line is complete only to a certain part(or not at all) so you can replay that story. It doesnt offer exp or rewards(you would have gotten them already the first time), and you can only have 1 new game plus active at a time(so if you want to replay a class quest series AND a section of the main story you need to finish or abandon one to do the other).

As for the higher level spells, that info was also right. You should be able to assign all missing abilities from the actions and traits menu. You will need to make sure that your summoner job stone is equipped for the summoner spells to appear on the menu, but otherwise its a simple process. When normally running instanced content(as opposed to open-world content) the game will automatically sync you to the level that the content was meant to be done at. So normally a level 18 dungeon only lets you use level 18(and under) spells. For some content this can be bypased though, if you choose. When accessing instanced content from the duty finder menu, you can adjust the settings using the gear icon in the upper left corner. One such setting "unrestricted party" allows you to enter most instances with your full power level and whatever people you are currently partied with. Unrestricted or "unsynced" parties dont get exp and get less loot rewards, but it will give you a chance to try out all your higher level spells and the early dungeons are easily completable solo by a high level player who so chooses. Still, it will be hard to get a proper feel for combat when everything dies in 1 or 2 hits. So at some point finding a striking dummy to practice on for awhile might be helpful. These can often be found sitting outside settlements, and many players or FCs will also have one in the yard of their house. Best of luck!

yea it was just me having another *stupid* moment. Do have another question though...when i swap weapons to change jobs it leaves me nekkid and i have to equip gear. Is there a way to bypass all this so it auto equips for the new job? Sorry for all the probably previously asked questions but i been gone for 2 years and i am slowly refreshing my memory on all this.

on the character screen, if you press the button with a little sheet of paper on you can make a gearset. You can drag the gearset from the list to a hotbar to swap to it more easily
