Cities can be a clusterfuck at times as they are. No need to make them even moreso with giant whales all over the place.

I'd rather not see mounts in cities. Especially bulky ones like Cerberus and the Lunar Whale.
It would be nice to get the PVP Sprint toggle in cities.
If you need extra speed in cities you can always level up a ranged physical job to get Peloton.
Not wholly against mounts but would rather have perma sprint or IS low cooldown sprint. Something ought to be done though since cities keep getting bigger with not entirely optimal aethernets.
You hit the nail on the head! This is a symptom of a much deeper problem lack of collision detection around things like quest giving NPCS and retainer bells. We already have enough fools on mounts blocking NPCs and other things. Don't exacerbate the behavior by being more obnoxious. Moving the AFK kick-out spot for Island Sanctuary was one of the best things they have done for the game. Now, if they could just learn to have collision detection around NPCs and things we interact with so we don't have to keep holding down X to be able to click on something without 50 people standing right on top of it, that would be even better.
Lack of collision detection effects the entire server not just cities and should be rectified.
The fact remains that none of the problems mentioned so far in this thread are problems in other mainstream MMOs so they should not be a problem here.
This is a wonderful alternative, thank you very much
Zero cooldown sprint, perma sprint or even a sprint buff in cities would work fantastically.
No thank you
Bad enough people basically stand on top of the summoning bell and make it hard to actually interact with, I can't imagine trying to do that with the whale mount or other large mount sitting on top of the bell. No thanks.
