Another Naming Thread - Viera

Hi!

I've been Gilernil Ly'Vain for a long time on the game, but recently I've kind of wanted to dip more into a Lore-like name but kind of keeping the "star" theme. (Gilernil means Star Tree in elvish somewhere and Ly'Vain means Spirit of the Wolf.) I know there's tons of names to chose from but Gilernil here on FFVIX kind of sounds like a weird Lalafell's name (if you get the reference).

Viera forest names names seem to be Scandinavian inspired. So we have lots of options there. Asta and Tähti are popular even these days and fit the trend of 1-2 syllable names for Viera. and Stjarna is the Norse word for star.

You could alter Gilernil a touch to look vaguely Vieraesc. Gelrnyl or Gilrnjl for example. or really go crazy and drop your vowels with. Gylrnl

Viera will also sometimes pick new names after being exiled (which every Viera player is. since Viera Do Not Leave the Wood. or, idk maybe their second generation exiles) So Gilernil could be from that. It's not so strange looking a name that i- a name lore fanatics would even blink.

as for the surname. you look Rava, so your surname before exile would have been village. And you're in luck because Ly'Vain almost fits in perfectly between the Dei-Ijla, Eruyt or Hyskaris. just drop the ' which aren't used by Viera forest names. Ly-Vain Or Lyvain. Or alter it further with Ly-Vehn or Lyvehn.
