Yoshi-P's Book of World Records (YBWR)

I think YBWRs would be an excellent idea.* It would be completely controlled by Square Enix and properly recognize the broad and wonderful talents of the FF 14 community.* It would include recognition for the following, but not limited to:


1) First to obtain Alpha Wolf Title*

2) Best Housing Decor

3) Best Ward

4) Biggest FC

5) First World Clears

6) Design Contest Winners

7) Fashion Report Personality*



These FF14 gamers could be awarded plaques or equivalents, and be recognized on official streams.* Awards will be awarded remotely with a live online stream of the recipients.


In addition, I could see a physical book sold every year, like 1st, 2nd , 3rd and etc editions updating the Yoshi-P's Book of World Records or removing records if gamers broke TOS.**I personally would pay $100-$200 for the book with an exclusive minion or in-game item, and to have something remember my friends and family from the FF14 community.


I'm thinking the physical book would include a Portrait of their character from their Adventure plate, Character Name, Home world and possibly Lodestone ID in addition to the record broken.* These gamers would be known for eternity.

I personally would like to think of it as a yearbook project more than a competition.* Some of the records could be, but not limited to:


1) Most expensive GIL Mount

2) Most expensive MGP Mount

3) Newest Beast Tribes*


The records can also be comical, serious, most memorable, and most eventful as well.

We don't need to make XIV a more competitive game as Sove mentioned. Remember when we had limited Titles for rebuilding the Firmament? Yeah. I sure do when we had bots crafting 24/7 just to steal titles and such. I think it's stupid to even consider this when the community received it NEGATIVELY.

As for World Firsts, these are COMMUNITY-DRIVEN and recognized by Yoshida himself in regards to Ultimate. For Savage, that is also COMMUNITY-DRIVEN, but not recognized by Yoshida from what I've seen in recent years.

I'd rather not. This game doesn't need to make people feel more competitive. It would not end well; I can assure you.

Even the harmless community driven world first competition generates toxicity and drama every time it rolls around. Housing as well, was competitive by its design and the discourse surrounding home-acquisition along with people's general behavior within the system itself are arguably the most toxic areas of the game.
If Square ever announced an actual official competition with lasting in game record ramifications (or god forbid a cash prize), the community would probably kill itself fighting for first place, and the winner would get eviscerated on social media if it turned out that he won but had an xiv modding site in his discord/browsing history or something.

I think what OP's proposing is a really good idea but I don't think this community can handle competition without completely melting down.

I feel like we need another Tik Tok to replace Guinness Book of World Records, and Yoshi's Book of World Records or maybe this name, 'Hydaelyn's Tome of Exceptionalism' would be great replacements. I don't know who Guinness was, but Yoshi-P and Hydaelyn have more clout and are better known among FF14 community.


There were conspiracy theories about the success of Yoshi-P and Elon Musk being visited by aliens because both men have taken ideas that were widely undermined, and then made them world-renowned and record breaking.


I thought maybe that could go in the tome as well....
